MotoGP News looks at the head-to-head teammate battles of the 2025 MotoGP grid, including their grand prix, qualifying and sprint results.

The 2025 season features a 22-round MotoGP calendar, with races in different countries. There were several line-up changes across the grid, with three rookies making their premier class debuts at the start of the year.

Some teams opted to fully replace their rosters, including Tech3 who signed Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales. Pramac also changed their line-up, signing Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller as they made the switch to Yamaha bikes.

With just a handful of races remaining in the 2025 season, Marc Marquez has already claimed the riders’ championship at the Grand Prix of Japan, working with teammate Francesco Bagnaia to secure Ducati their second consecutive teams’ title.

So, with that in mind, MotoGP News looks at the head-to-head teammate battles of the 2025 season.

Ducati factory team – Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia 2025 head-to-head

Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia are contesting their first season together at the Ducati factory team. Bagnaia has been with the team since 2021, taking consecutive titles in 2022 and 2023, before coming runner-up last year.

Marquez signed with the team midway through 2024, with a contract that will keep him in his seat until 2026. The decision to leave Gresini has proved fruitful for the Spaniard, who was able to take the 2025 riders’ championship at the Grand Prix of Japan.

Since winning the title, Marquez suffered a severe shoulder injury after a crash at the Grand Prix of Indonesia. His injury has required surgery, and as a result, the Spaniard will miss the remainder of the season.

Gresini Racing – Fermin Aldeguer and Alex Marquez 2025 head-to-head

Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer are contesting their first season together as teammates at Gresini Racing. Marquez has been with the team since 2023 and has so far seen a strong third season with the team, sitting in the runner-up position of the riders’ championship behind his brother Marc.

Aldeguer was promoted to MotoGP at the start of 2025 after three full seasons with Boscoscuro in Moto2. The Spaniard has had a strong maiden season in the premier class, taking his first victory at the Indonesian Grand Prix.

Aprilia Racing – Marco Bezzecchi, Jorge Martin and Lorenzo Savadori 2025 head-to-head

Aprilia Racing had an all-new line-up for the 2025 season, with last season’s riders’ champion, Jorge Martin, and Marco Bezzecchi replacing Maverick Vinales and Alex Espargaro. Martin’s 2025 season has been plagued by injury, resulting in Aprilia’s test rider, Lorenzo Savadori, joining the team’s line-up for a large part of the year.

Martin has contested just six grands prix in 2025, with the Spaniard competing in five mid-season races before he suffered another injury during the Grand Prix of Japan Sprint Race, which saw him back on the sidelines. It is not yet known if he will finish the season.

VR46 Racing Team – Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio 2025 head-to-head

Fabio Di Giannantonio remained with VR46 Racing Team for the 2025 season after joining the team last year. Franco Morbidelli joined the team from Pramac this year, making it an all-Italian rider line-up.

The pair have seen a decent season together, with both riders scoring two third-place podiums each, resulting in VR46 sitting third in the teams’ championship.

KTM Factory Racing – Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta 2025 head-to-head

Brad Binder has been with KTM Factory Racing since 2020, contesting his sixth season with the team. It has been a steady season for the South African, even though he is yet to score a podium this year, the first time he has not achieved the feat in his MotoGP career.

Binder is joined by Pedro Acosta, who joined KTM in 2025 after moving from Tech3 at the end of last year. The Spaniard has already equalled his point total from last season with a handful of races remaining.

Tech3 – Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini 2025 head-to-head

Tech3 saw a brand new line-up for 2025, with Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini joining the team at the start of the year.

Vinales joined the team after three seasons with Aprilia and, after briefly leading the Qatar Grand Prix, became the first rider to lead a race with four different manufacturers. The Spaniard was forced to miss four races in 2025 after fracturing his shoulder during qualifying for the German Grand Prix.

Bastianini moved to Tech3 from Ducati after finishing fourth in last year’s riders’ championship. The Italian has had one podium finish in 2025 compared to his nine in 2024.

Yamaha factory team – Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins 2025 head-to-head

Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins remained with the Yamaha Factory Team for their second season together in 2025.

Quartararo has had a strong 2025 season, scoring points in all bar three races, which he had retired from. The Frenchman has taken one second-place finish this year, his first podium since the 2023 Indonesian Grand Prix, where he finished third.

Rins has also seen a long point scoring streak in 2025, with 12 points finishes, although he has been unable to finish higher than 10th. The Spaniard came close to his first podium in two years at the Indonesian Grand Prix, running in second before dropping to 10th when his tyres degraded.

Pramac Racing – Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira 2025 head-to-head

Both Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira joined Pramac Racing at the start of the 2025 season. Miller moved from KTM after a difficult two seasons with the team, where he finished outside of the top 10 in the riders’ championship in both years.

Oliveira joined Pramac after switching from Trackhouse, but has struggled in 2025 after suffering from a shoulder injury in the early part of the year.

Trackhouse Racing – Raul Fernandez and Ai Ogura 2025 head-to-head

Trackhouse Racing’s second year in MotoGP saw them continue with Raul Fernandez, as well as signing Ai Ogura to the team for the 2025 season. Fernandez has nearly doubled his points this year compared to his 2024 season, taking 15 points finishes from 18 grands prix.

Ogura made the step up to the premier class after taking the Moto2 title last year. It has been a rocky year for the Japanese rider, who was disqualified from the Argentine Grand Prix and has seen a further three retirements.

LCR Honda – Johann Zarco and Somkiat Chantra 2025 head-to-head

LCR Honda opted to retain Johann Zarco for a second season with the team in 2025, whilst also choosing to sign Somkiat Chantra as his teammate this year.

Zarco took his first win in two seasons at his home grand prix in France, followed by a second-place finish at the following British Grand Prix.

Chantra was promoted to MotoGP from Moto2 at the start of the year, but has had a rocky maiden season after suffering from a knee injury.

Honda factory team – Luca Marini and Joan Mir 2025 head-to-head

Honda had opted to retain Luca Marini and Joan Mir for the 2025 season, marking the pair’s second season as teammates. Mir has been with the team since 2023 and is currently seeing his best season with Honda, tripling his points from the last two years.

Marini has also had a decent year with the team, scoring points in all bar four races. The Italian was forced to miss three races mid-season after suffering a heavy crash during training in Japan, which saw him sustain a fractured sternum, collapsed right lung, dislocated hip and knee ligament damage.
