Gresini Racing are entering the 2025 season on the backfoot after losing six-time champion rider Marc Marquez to the factory Ducati team.
His replacement is talented Spanish rookie Fermin Aldeguer, who graduates from Moto2 after four seasons in the series.
Gresini staff were amazed by Marquez’s memory after he joined them from Honda at the start of the 2024 season.
Despite winning three races together, the partnership was to be short-lived as he left to challenge two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia at Ducati following a crazy MotoGP rider market period.
Gresini will be running the GP24 Desmosedici bike this season – one that romped to the championship in the hands of Jorge Martin.

MotoGP fans impressed by Gresini’s ‘magnificent’ bike launch
Gresini recently told Lewis Hamilton they wouldn’t sell their team even if the seven-time Formula 1 champion offered a lot of money.
They launched their 2025 bike this week, featuring some chrome which fans appear to have taken a liking to almost straight away on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
“The chrome on their bikes … and leathers too! Such a cool detail!” wrote one fan.
Another agreed by saying “The black [chrome] works surprisingly well.. really clean I like it.”

“This bike looks so clean and beautiful,” said another admirer while someone else was pleased by the continued presence of blue: “Like it! Gresini blue with silver/chrome details goes hard tbh!” they said.
And finally, the blue and chrome was complimented by two more fans who said the new scheme was a “Magnificent livery,” and “Your livery looks [fire].”
Can Gresini achieve more in 2025?
Gresini managed three victories and a further eight podiums in 2024 after a breakthrough season which saw them finish three places higher than the year prior in the teams’ standings.
Their third place, not far behind Pramac who were the hosts of eventual champion Martin, was a sign of their gradual improvements over the last few seasons.
Now they inherit a bike which was dominant last season and should offer them the opportunity to compete for victories.
The Marquez who remains with them is an experienced campaigner now and should be able to teach his rookie teammate a lot about the sport.
If they can work well together, don’t be surprised to see the team crowning a new race winner by the end of the season.
