Marco Bezzecchi’s unacceptable treatment of a marshal after his crash at Brno exposed one of his biggest weaknesses.
With his return and subsequent dominant win at Hungary, many felt Marc Marquez would exploit Bezzecchi’s weaknesses and snatch the 2026 world championship away from him.
But Bezzecchi’s recent treatment of a MotoGP marshal after his crash at Brno, we saw one glaring difference between the two riders.
What does Marco Bezzecchi have to change after crashing out of the Czech Grand Prix Sprint?
The Aprilia rider's incident at Brno was his fourth crash from nine Sprints in 2026
Marco Bezzecchi shoved the marshal who was trying to pick up his bike violently, for which he was banned from the Czech Grand Prix today.
But this ban won’t just cost him points in the championship race – it also confirmed why Marc Marquez has a huge edge against the Aprilia rider.

Marco Bezzecchi pushing MotoGP marshal shows he still lacks the maturity to be world champion
Bezzecchi’s push of the marshal exposed his lack of maturity. After an errant crash that looked set to cost him points in the championship race, he reacted in an aggressive and immature way.
Being in a tense championship battle as a leader, while being chased down by one of the greatest riders, is not an easy position to be in.
And while Bezzecchi still has a sizable lead over Marquez, the Spaniard has turned around his poor start to the season in recent weeks.
But Bezzecchi losing out on a chance to maintain his lead in Brno dealt a huge blow to his title endeavours. This was bound to leave the Italian frustrated.
However, no amount of frustration is enough to justify this reaction from Bezzecchi. Several riders have been in his position in the past, and this season as well.
And none of them have acted so needlessly violent towards marshals, who it must be stated, are volunteering their free time to help contribute to a sport they love, for no financial compensation.
Even Marc Marquez, who endured a very disappointing start to the season, never reacted the way Bezzecchi did.

What are your thoughts on Marco Bezzecchi being BANNED from the Czech GP?

Marco Bezzecchi must adopt championship mindset to earn first title win
As Bezzecchi looks to fend off a sensational comeback attempt from Marquez, he needs to show that he has the mindset to compete with the reigning world champion.
Any concerns about Bezzecchi’s title win having an asterisk must be put on the back burner for the Italian, as he must show the maturity and fighting spirit needed to win a world championship.
Bezzecchi’s lack of explosiveness as a rider isn’t the priority for Aprilia to try and work around – team officials must make sure that the rider does not lose his cool again.
Becoming a MotoGP champion is not easy. And as much as it is about being a good rider, it is also about showing a champion’s mentality.
