Jorge Martin has appeared to change his mind on the Aprilia team orders after their impressive showing during qualifying at the Italian Grand Prix.
On Friday, it was the Fabio Di Giannantonio show as he set the fastest time in both FP1 and practice.
However, the momentum did not continue into Saturday as he only managed to put in a qualifying lap that was good enough for P7.
Marco Bezzecchi secured pole position ahead of Raul Fernandez and Martin, with Aprilia dominating the proceedings.
After Martin and Fernandez’s coming together in Barcelona, it has been noted that Aprilia have introduced team orders on Trackhouse at Martin’s request.

However, speaking after Saturday’s qualifying at Mugello, Martin urged Fernandez to go ‘all out’ and rejected suggestions of team orders.
Speaking to DAZN, Martin said: “Team orders? I hope Raúl Fernández goes all out, just like we will. Nothing new, nothing I haven’t seen at other factories. At KTM, at Ducati, it’s always the norm between teams and between bikes.
“There’s been a lot of noise about this, but it’s racing. We’ll keep pushing hard, and I hope Raúl Fernández goes all out, just like we will.”

Martin also stated that he had ‘something extra’ but was not able to demonstrate it on track despite breaking the top speed record.
The Spaniard added: “I had something extra, but I wasn’t able to put it to the test. The truth is, there were a lot of fast riders today; there were six or seven of us who could have been on pole.
“I knew I had something extra, but I wasn’t able to put it to the test. We were all trying to get behind each other, and it was a real mess.”
On the speed record, Martin stated that it could be broken again during the remainder of the Italian GP weekend.
The Aprilia star said: “I’m happy about that, we’ve set the all-time top speed record, which has made me very happy because until now I’ve been the fastest rider in history.
“When you get off the bike, you can’t see anything, you just see blurs. But I got out of the last corner really well, I controlled the wheelie over a bump there, and on top of that, I was behind two riders, it was incredible.
“It might drop in the race, it’s likely if there are several riders slipstreaming, but we’ve already done it.”
