MotoGP fans are worried that Marc Marquez is returning to action too soon and risks another injury at the Italian Grand Prix.
The defending champion has been plagued by injury in 2026. He has been struggling with the effects of his crash at Mandalika in 2025, with a loose screw in his right arm causing him nerve problems.
Marquez’s highside at Le Mans left him requiring surgery for his foot – he was already scheduled to have an operation for his arm before the crash. He has missed the last two races and is set to return at Mugello, but fans are concerned for his fitness.

MotoGP fans still think Marc Marquez needs more rest after announcing Italian GP comeback
Marquez’s return at the Italian Grand Prix is subject to a final medical check on Thursday. As surgeries and recoveries go, it has been minor for the Spaniard this time around, but the concerns are still there.
There has been a lot of talk about the Ant of Cervera’s future in MotoGP due to the multitude of crashes and injuries he has sustained in recent years.
Carlo Pernat thinks Marquez has a retirement clause in his Ducati contract – he is believed to have signed a new one until 2028 – which he could activate should his body not fully recover. Many fans are questioning whether he has recovered enough to race at Mugello.
