The debate between Marquez and Rossi for who is the greatest of all time has been perhaps one of the most fascinating conversations of its kind across all of sport.

Brad Binder can’t name one thing Marc Marquez does better than ‘King of MotoGP’ Valentino Rossi

Speaking in an interview with Moto.it, Brad Binder was asked to name the unique qualities both Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez have over each other.

Binder admitted that he couldn’t pick a single quality or attribute that Marquez had over Rossi, whom he considers his idol in the sport.

“I don’t really know. For me, since I was a kid, Rossi has been number one. He’s the king of MotoGP in my eyes. I think everything Rossi has done was the right way to do it.

“He’s my hero in MotoGP. It’s really difficult to compare the two. They’re both extraordinary riders, both with their strengths, but Valentino is Valentino.”

Binder has raced against both Rossi and Marquez, so he may have a level of expertise to speak on the matter, even if he acknowledges his own bias on the subject.

Will Marc Marquez ever win over Italian MotoGP fans?

Marc Marquez has an opportunity to surpass Valentino Rossi’s accolades in MotoGP

Coming into the season, many fans kept a close eye on Rossi’s records, as Marquez was close to beating them.

Given the historical significance of several records Rossi holds in MotoGP, for a modern rider like Marquez to come close to breaking these records was bound to be a significant hook for this season.

Unfortunately, Marquez’s long-standing injury issues have derailed a great portion of his season so far. And even with his impending return, there is a great deal of scepticism as to whether he can break these records.

There is also a concern that Marquez’s injury issues could force him to retire, thus cutting short the once-in-a-generation opportunity he has to match some of the greatest records in the history of the sport.
