Jack Miller now has a clear path to Ducati’s WSBK team after Fabio Di Giannantonio’s KTM move

Jack Miller’s time in MotoGP looks set to end in 2026. However, Fabio Di Giannantonio’s move to KTM for 2027 has just created a domino effect that could leave the Aussie with Ducati in World Superbikes.

Miller is out of contract with Pramac in 2026 and is facing real pressure to keep his seat. He is the second-lowest scoring full-time rider on the grid after the first five races, with just one point to his name.

Yamaha’s bike is seriously lacking performance, but the Aussie is clearly the manufacturer’s lowest-performing rider, with rookie teammate Toprak Razgatlioglu beating him in all but one race thus far.

Does Jack Miller still have the talent to fight further up the grid?

With Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura signed to the factory team, and Razgatlioglu set to stay with Pramac in 2027, Miller’s MotoGP career is under real threat. Pramac are eyeing Moto2’s Izan Guevara, with the Spaniard having a ‘clause’ that guarantees him a MotoGP seat.

Should Guevara be signed, Miller likely faces an exit from the sport altogether, with there being limited seats available. However, the MotoGP rider market may have thrown up a new path for the Aussie, with Fabio Di Giannantonio joining KTM.

Fabio Di Giannantonio’s move to KTM creates perfect path for Jack Miller to join Ducati in World Superbikes

The VR46 rider is set to become a full-on factory rider with KTM in 2027, turning away from Ducati, as Di Giannantonio knew he would lose ‘prominence’ with Fermin Aldeguer receiving factory support.

This transfer could create a snowball effect for 2027. World Superbike star Nicolo Bulega is back in the frame to join VR46, with the Italian fighting to find a way onto the MotoGP grid.

If Bulega is to land the seat with VR46, Ducati will need a replacement in WSBK. Miller suddenly becomes the perfect candidate if he leaves Pramac.

The Aussie still has a lot to give in motorcycle racing, and with a competitive bike behind him, he could score some strong results, whilst also giving WSBK a great opportunity to benefit from the Australian market.

What’s more is that Ducati still highly rate Miller from his time with the MotoGP team. With the relationship still strong and a door potentially open thanks to Bulega, it is the perfect path for him to continue his career.

Jack Miller wants to keep racing in 2027

Wherever Miller ends up in 2027, he has made it clear that his time in full-time racing is not over. He told The Race at Le Mans that he wanted to keep racing next year, rejecting rumours that he could become a test rider.

“I want to race. I don’t mind the testing side of things but I do that for the light at the end of the tunnel – which is going racing,” Miller explained.

“At the end of the day, I enjoy racing motorcycles.” Only time will tell whether he is still in the MotoGP paddock at the end of the season.
