Francesco Guidotti has said that Toprak Razgatlioglu is able to adapt like a ‘chameleon’ as he continues to adapt to MotoGP.
Toprak Razgatlioglu’s move from World Superbikes to MotoGP has been widely discussed as he became the first rider in a long time to make the move.
The Turkish rider became one of the most successful World Superbike riders of all time after winning three World Championships, one with Yamaha and two with BMW. However, the switch to a MotoGP machine is proving to be a lot harder than it looks.
Razgatlioglu finished 17th in his first Grand Prix as a MotoGP rider at the Thailand Grand Prix, but had success in the mixed conditions on Friday at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Francesco Guidotti says Toprak Razgatlioglu is ‘like a chameleon’
In an interview with Speedweek, former MotoGP team principal Francesco Guidotti discussed Razgatlioglu’s adaptation from World Superbikes to MotoGP.
Although it has been a slow adaptation from Superbikes to MotoGP, Guidotti is confident that Razgatlioglu will be successful because he is ‘like a chameleon’.
Guidotti said, “Toprak has outstanding qualities when it comes to adapting – he’s like a chameleon and able to understand anything that moves and use it to the limit, including a MotoGP bike.
“Due to the great complexity involved, the process takes longer, but Toprak will work his way through and find his way.”

Toprak Razgatlioglu ends Friday at the Brazilian GP in third place
During the mixed conditions on Friday at the Brazilian Grand Prix, Razgatlioglu found his form on the Pramac Yamaha as he secured a Q2 position.
The Turkish rider ended the opening day of practice in Brazil in third place, behind Johann Zarco and Marc Marquez who led the way before rain began to fall.
There have been clear signs of improvement from Razgatlioglu, as after his first Grand Prix with Yamaha, there were beliefs that Razgatlioglu could beat Fabio Quartararo.
Razgatlioglu’s manager, Kenan Sofuoglu, has also discussed that there is a chance that Razgatlioglu could be with the factory Yamaha squad in 2026.
