LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco set the pace on Friday afternoon in a rain-affected MotoGP Practice session at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

In the morning session, it was Pedro Acosta who topped the timesheets on the KTM, but after a 20-minute period of dry track time, lap times fell dramatically in the afternoon practice session.

Before the rain fell and the track became too wet for slick tyres once again, it was Johann Zarco who topped the timesheets on the LCR Honda, as he held off Marc Marquez, who found himself in second place on the timesheets.

It was notable that MotoGP rookie, Toprak Razgatlioglu, secured himself a spot in Q2 on Saturday as the Turkish rider set a lap time that was good enough for third place in the final practice session on Friday.

However, the winner of the Thailand Grand Prix, Marco Bezzecchi, will have to go through Q1 on Saturday as he ended the day in 20th place on the timesheets.

Marco Bezzecchi will have to go through Q1 on Saturday

After winning the opening Grand Prix of the 2026 season two weeks ago, Marco Bezzecchi will now have to battle his way through Q1 at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Italian rider dominated the Thailand Grand Prix as he started his season off with a crash in the Sprint Race and a win in the Grand Prix.

With a better weather forecast for Saturday morning, Bezzecchi will have to fight against the VR46 riders of Franco Morbidelli and Fabio di Giannantonio, as well as Honda riders Joan Mir and Luca Marini.
