MotoGP crash leaderboard for 2026 as Alex Marquez leads after French Grand Prix

The MotoGP crash leaderboard is usually a good metric to decipher which riders are currently facing difficulties with their respective prototype, as well as those who may be playing things a little bit too safe.

The metric includes every session of a usual race weekend. That includes FP1, Practice, FP2, Qualifying, the Sprint, and the Grand Prix.

Johann Zarco led last year’s leaderboard, with the LCR Honda rider suffering a total of 28 crashes over the course of the 2025 MotoGP season.

On the opposite end of the spectrum was Fabio Di Giannantonio, who fell just five times despite taking part in every single one of the 22 race weekends last year.

Only Luca Marini was below him in terms of the full-time riders, but the Italian missed three rounds in the middle of the season through injury.

Following the conclusion of the fifth round of the 2026 season at the Le Mans-based Bugatti Circuit, Alex Marquez usurped the lead from Marco Bezzecchi in the crash leaderboards following his offs in qualifying and the French Grand Prix.

Marc Marquez suffered just one crash over the entirety of the weekend, but it proved to be a pivotal one.

The reigning world champion sustained a fractured right foot in a violent highside during the Sprint race, effectively putting a hold on his title defence for the upcoming Catalan Grand Prix.
