Toprak Razgatlioglu’s manager, Kenan Sofuoglu, has outlined his plans for the 2027 season amid the chaos of the MotoGP rider market.
The three-time WSBK champion has a contract with Pramac until the end of the 2027 season. The Tuscany-based team fended off interest from Honda to sign him in 2026.
Razgatlioglu finished 17th on his MotoGP debut in Thailand on Sunday, with the Yamaha V4 engine proving to be desperately uncompetitive. Nevertheless, Paolo Pavesio was ‘satisfied’ by Razgatlioglu’s performance as he beat Pramac teammate Jack Miller.

The 2026 season may have contested only one race, but attention is already turning to 2027 and the MotoGP rider market. Several talents, including Fabio Quartararo, Pedro Acosta, and Francesco Bagnaia, are said to have already signed their contracts.
Despite being one of four riders officially contracted for 2027, Razgatlioglu could also be at the centre of interest next season, as his manager has pointed out.

Marc Marquez has told Razgatlioglu to work out his ‘priorities’ as rumours swirl about his future. With Quartararo looking set to join Honda, the 29-year-old is being linked with a factory Yamaha seat.
Sofuoglu admitted to GPOne that there ‘could be interest’ from the Iwata outfit. However, he explained that the ‘original plan’ is to stay at Pramac, and he is ‘99% sure’ that will be the outcome.
What does Toprak need to achieve in 2026 to join Yamaha’s 2027 factory line-up?
“There are a lot of rumours, but we’re part of a top-level organisation like Pramac. Our goal is to bring Toprak to the highest level,” he said.
“I’m 99% sure Toprak will stay with his current team next year because we’re happy and we work well together.
“However, our contract is open and there could be interest from factory Yamaha, but the original plan remains with his current team.”

Who are Yamaha looking at for the 2027 season?
Razgatlioglu is certainly an option for the factory Yamaha team in 2027. In fact, the way the rider market is moving, his chances might be better than those of other riders.
Jorge Martin is set to join Yamaha in 2027, and with Alex Rins looking likely to lose his seat, there is a space to fill within the team. They were targeting Francesco Bagnaia, but he snubbed the team to join Aprilia.
It appears that the Japanese outfit are looking outside of their current pool of riders. Fabio Di Giannantonio is an option for Yamaha, given that he could be set to leave VR46 at the end of the year.
Yamaha have made an offer for Luca Marini, who is out of contract with Honda at the end of 2026. However, he could yet stay within their plans, giving Razgatlioglu an opportunity to get a factory move.
