Pre-season for the 2026 MotoGP season has now come to an end with Marco Bezzecchi topping the timesheets with a brand-new lap record at the Buriram International Circuit.
The final testing session of pre-season for the 2026 premier class campaign is now in the books, with the MotoGP grid recongregating in Buriram next weekend for the season-opener.
Alex Marquez set the pace in Thailand on the first day of the test, while the reigning world champion, Marc Marquez, suffered two crashes as he set the fourth fastest time of the day.
It was another scorching day in Buriram on Sunday, and the majority of teams were focused on securing some race simulation data, as well as letting it fly with some qualifying laps too.
Are Marc Marquez’s crashes at the Buriram test a sign he’s reverted to his old habits?

The second and final day of the Buriram test started 30 minutes earlier than yesterday, and the field wasted no time in getting some strong laps on the board.
Marco Bezzecchi began proceedings with a time that was just two and a half tenths off Francesco Bagnaia’s 2024 lap record, which was later usurped by the Ducati rider during his qualifying simulations.
However, it was Marc Marquez who ended the morning on top after taking half a tenth out of Bagnaia’s time, despite feeling unwell in the lead-up to the test.
As track temperatures continued to soar in the afternoon, teams took to the track to complete some race simulations.
Bezzecchi was the standout for the majority of the afternoon, with Marquez’s morning benchmark proving to be out of reach for those taking part in the longer stints of running.
Whilst taking part in his own respective race simulation, the Spaniard took another tumble off his GP26, marking the third off he’s had over the two days of testing.
His brother also had an off just minutes later, ending with both riders being cleared by the medical centre to continue their part in the test.
Bezzecchi’s late effort saw him claim the top spot as well as a new lap record. The Italian rider went half a tenth clear of Bagnaia’s previous benchmark, and led an Aprilia one-two as Ai Ogura claimed the second fastest time of the test.
