Saudi Arabia has been discussed as a potential country to enter the MotoGP calendar in the near future.
With the news that Phillip Island will not be on the MotoGP calendar for the 2027 season, there have been discussions regarding what circuits could enter the series.
In 2027 MotoGP will head to Adelaide for the Australian Grand Prix, and will return to a street circuit, which has caused differing opinions.
However, it is not the only change for the 2027 calendar as a second Grand Prix in South America will be added to the schedule alongside the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Three countries that could soon enter the MotoGP calendar
During the Gas It Out podcast, Gavin Emmett discussed the potential of the new countries that could enter the MotoGP calendar as soon as 2027.
Argentina is supposed to return to the calendar, but in Buenos Aires rather than the International Autodromo Termas De Rio Hondo that has been previously used. China is another country that could come back onto the calendar with the Shanghai International Circuit.
However, it has also been suggested that Saudi Arabia could debut on the calendar with the new circuit that is being built in Qiddiya.
Emmett said, “There is talk about race tracks that might be on the calendar in the future. China is surely a shoo-in to come back.
“Argentina sounds like work is really heavily going on at Buenos Aires, with the possibility of going back to Argentina, but in Buenos Aires.
“Obviously, Saudi Arabia, with Qiddiya, is the talk, but I don’t think it will be ready for next year. They are building a whole city, called Qiddiya entertainment city, and they are going to have a Formula 1 there eventually, and MotoGP have a deal to go to Saudi Arabia sooner rather than later.
“Mark those on your cards as possibilities for the future. The likes of Aragon will be looking over their shoulders about whether they keep a race.”

The response to the latest move to Adelaide for the 2027 MotoGP season has not been overwhelmingly positive as multiple figures have stated their distaste with the decision.
Although Australian rider, Jack Miller believes the decision to move to Adelaide is ‘amazing news’ for MotoGP, Casey Stoner believes MotoGP have taken their ‘best circuit’ off the calendar.
If new circuits continue to be added to the calendar, some of the existing tracks will also have to be replaced. Emmett suggested that Aragon could see its calendar slot removed in the near future.
However, riders have also expressed their desire to keep favourite circuits such as Mugello on the calendar in the future.
