Ducati continued their dominance in MotoGP in 2025, grabbing their fourth consecutive riders’ title and sixth constructors’ title in a row.
The Borgo Panigale outfit won 17 out of 22 Grand Prix and 19 Sprint races in 2025, with Marc Marquez collecting 25 victories across the season. He wrapped up the title at Motegi before suffering a season-ending injury at Mandalika.
Brother Alex Marquez finished second in the championship for Gresini, marking history in MotoGP. He grabbed his first three wins in the premier class and will be looking to make further progress on a factory bike in 2026.
Francesco Bagnaia struggled immensely on the GP25 as he found no feeling in braking and corner entry, slipping to fifth in the standings. The other three Ducati riders came in behind in sixth, seventh and eighth, with Fabio Di Giannantonio scoring a double podium at Valencia.

Luigi Dall’Igna says Fabio Di Giannantonio was ‘remarkable’ in the second half of 2025 with VR46
The VR46 rider’s result at the season finale meant Ducati have now gone 88 consecutive races with one of their riders on the podium. It is an impressive feat, especially for Di Giannantonio, who has also struggled with the GP25 this season.
Diggia had the ‘same problems’ as Bagnaia on the bike, while Marquez, like with any machine, found it easy to adapt. Despite his obvious struggles, the 27-year-old started finding his feet on the GP25, grabbing six podiums across all races after the summer break.
Writing on his LinkedIn account, Ducati chief Luigi Dall’Igna heaped praise on Di Giannantonio for his performance at the end of the season. He was left impressed by his ‘remarkable’ turnaround.
“Diggia, for his part, notched a remarkable second half of the season, in a crescendo of important podiums in Australia and especially at Valencia, where he placed twice in third spot between Saturday and Sunday,” he wrote.

Why Fabio Di Giannantonio deserves more plaudits for his 2025 season
Diggia adopted Bagnaia’s ‘tactic’ of avoiding ‘incessant’ questions about the GP25 and how it differs from the GP24. The consensus was that the two bikes were fairly similar, but for whatever reason, the Italians struggled to perform with the new machine.
It seems that the tactic worked for the VR46 as he started to score regular points and challenge for podiums towards the end of the season. He came close to winning at Phillip Island and kept Ducati’s podium streak going at Valencia.
While Bagnaia retired from six of the last seven races, Di Giannantonio started to find consistency on the GP25, ultimately finishing 26 points behind the factory Ducati rider. His efforts were perhaps overlooked over the season, so it is encouraging to see Dall’Igna give him the plaudits he deserves.
In 2026, Diggia will remain on the factory spec bike, with Alex Marquez joining him, his brother Marc, and Bagnaia on the GP26. The VR46 star will be hoping to find better consistency throughout the season and put his early struggles on the GP25 behind him.
