The feud that erupted between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez when the former felt the latter ruined his 2015 MotoGP title shot still appears to have no end in sight.
Even a decade on, the events that transpired between Rossi and Marquez through the 2015 MotoGP season continue to create a debate. Rossi had the chance to become an eight-time champion, but he finished the term just five points shy of Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo.
Rounds 16 and 17 of the 2015 season in Australia and Malaysia are widely viewed as the key flash points that ignited the bitter rivalry between the Italian and Spaniard. Yet Lorenzo feels Rossi could have avoided his feud with Marquez if he handled race three in Argentina better.
Marquez crashed out on the penultimate lap of the 2015 Argentine Grand Prix after contact with Rossi while fighting over the win. The Honda icon also later retired when Rossi seemed to kick Marquez in Malaysia, in revenge for feeling his rival tried to ruin his race in Australia.

Andrea Migno questions why Valentino Rossi would ‘forgive’ Marc Marquez for hurting him ‘a lot’ in 2015
Rossi accused Marquez of trying to cost him the title in the 2015 Australian Grand Prix, after having the pace to dominate at Phillip Island that season yet he dropped back into the pack. Marquez still won the Australian GP in 2015, with Lorenzo in P2, but Rossi only managed P4.

Such was the hostility that grew between Rossi and Marquez in 2015 that VR46 rider coach Andrea Migno believes there is “no chance” that the Italian will forgive the Spaniard. Migno also doubts why Rossi would reconcile with Marquez, having felt so wronged by his actions.
“Would you make peace with someone who hurt you? A lot? I don’t think so,” Migno told Fanpage. “There’s no chance Valentino will forgive Marc. Then again, in my opinion, maybe in another 10 years they’ll make peace.”
Marc Marquez has no interest in resolving his feud with Valentino Rossi
Rossi is not the only party in his feud with Marquez not actively looking to make amends for what happened a full decade ago. Marquez is not interested in resolving his bitter feud with Rossi, as well, unless the Italian is the one who attempts to build bridges with the Spaniard.

The ongoing animosity between the two legends is also clear, as Marquez and Rossi ignored each other at the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix. They crossed paths in the pit lane ahead of the Sprint Race at the Red Bull Ring this August, yet neither icon even looked at their fierce foe.
Speaking this November, Marquez stated “I don’t need him” while discussing Rossi and their ongoing feud, as well. So, Migno may be right to suggest that Rossi and Marquez might need another decade before the two come together to make peace over what transpired in 2015.
