Toprak Razgatlioglu says Jack Miller brings ‘really important’ off-track attribute to Pramac

Jack Miller and Toprak Razgatlioglu form one of MotoGP’s most intriguing teammate match-ups for the 2026 season. One of the grid’s most experienced riders goes up against a superstar rookie.

Barring any injuries, Miller will make his 200th race start at next year’s season opener. He recently overtook the sidelined Maverick Vinales in that category, with only Marc Marquez (207) ahead.

Razgatlioglu has only ridden a MotoGP bike in a test capacity so far. But he recently sealed his third World Superbikes championship.

The Turkish sensation is coming to Grand Prix racing to win world championships. But Razgatlioglu says he won’t be ‘special’ until 2027, with a year of adaptation on unfamiliar Michelin tyres in store first.

Toprak Razgatlioglu says Jack Miller is simply a ‘really normal person’

Razgatlioglu’s deal was announced in June, three months before Miller learned he’d be staying on the grid.

When the news was made official, Razgatlioglu sent a message to Miller looking forward to the partnership.

He’s now reiterated that sentiment in an interview on the Fast and Curious podcast. He described Miller as a ‘very good guy and a really normal person’, which helps him build strong, constructive relationships with not only his teammates but also his crew.

Razgatlioglu expects to learn from Miller’s data, though he did point out that Yamaha’s pivot to a V4 engine would be reset for all of the riders.

“He’s very experienced, and also a very good guy, a really normal person,” he said. “This is really important. I’m happy working with him. We’ll enjoy it a lot. We’ll do stoppies together!

“I think I’ll learn something from him. We’re working together, he has data. Maybe I’ll learn quick from him. Next year, it’s new for everyone. For all Yamaha riders, it’s the first time racing with the V4 engines. I’m very happy working with Jack Miller.

Toprak Razgatlioglu’s verdict on going up against Marc Marquez

Miller has had a fairly comfortable edge over Miguel Oliveira this season, outqualifying him 13-3 and beating him in 13 of the 21 races that both have finished. He’s 30 points ahead in the standings, albeit after seven absences for the Portuguese.

Oliveira, a four-time premier-class winner, is a good yardstick for Miller. But once Razgatlioglu has adapted, he’s likely to have a higher ceiling – otherwise Yamaha wouldn’t have made the move.

Razgatlioglu has previously crushed his teammates, but equally, Miller is the most accomplished rider he’s faced.

The end game for the 29-year-old is dethroning Marc Marquez as the king of MotoGP. Razgatlioglu doesn’t expect to challenge Marquez in 2026, preferring to remain humble for the moment.
