Ranking every MotoGP constructor’s 2026 roster with Ducati second and KTM bottom

The grid for the 2026 MotoGP season has officially been confirmed as Honda fill the last spot.

The Japanese giants have signed Moto2 star Diogo Moreira to LCR on a three-year contract. The Brazilian officially completes the grid for the 2026 season.

The MotoGP rider market has seen little movement for next season, after Dorna blocked riders from breaking contracts. The likes of Jorge Martin, Pedro Acosta and Enea Bastianini planned to move elsewhere for 2026, but they were denied.

Subsequently, most teams have kept their line-ups the same, but there will be two new faces on the grid in Moreira and World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu. The five manufacturers will be looking to have a strong season, in what is the final year of the current regulation cycle.

With the 2026 grid confirmed, MotoGP News has ranked each constructor’s rider line-up for next year.

5 – KTM

KTM are the only MotoGP constructor without a champion in their line-up, which immediately puts them below their rivals. The Austrian outfit will retain their four riders from 2025.

Acosta’s relaxed approach in the second half of the season has brought improved results with five podiums, including Sprints. But he has been the only KTM rider to consistently challenge the frontrunners, with Brad Binder having a torrid season.

Tech3’s Maverick Vinales and Bastianini have struggled in their debut year on the RC16. 2026 could bring some improvements as they adapt more to the bike, but the uncertainty surrounding KTM’s future in MotoGP and the riders’ form could make for a difficult season.

4 – Honda

Honda are keen to return to the front of the grid and have made strides towards that in 2025. Johann Zarco claimed the constructor’s first win since 2023 at Le Mans, but has struggled for consistency since then.

Joan Mir has crashed several times this season, while Luca Marini is starting to reap the benefits of Honda’s upgrades. Continuity with the factory team could be key to spurring the Japanese outfit on, even if Zarco arguably deserved to join HRC as he sits as their top rider.

Moreira is an exciting option for Honda, who have mainly contested 2025 with three competitive riders, as Somkiat Chantra has been considerably behind his teammates. The Brazilian is a talent for the future and could be a strong talent among a pool of experienced heads at the Japanese outfit.

3 – Yamaha

2026 is a significant year for Yamaha and their MotoGP project as they roll out the V4 bike. It could also be make-or-break for their line-up.

Fabio Quartararo remains the Iwata outfit’s star rider, but Yamaha are facing pressure to deliver a competitive bike as the 2021 champion considers his future. Teammate Alex Rins has experience with V4 bikes, but his lack of results due to injury complications could hold them back.

Jack Miller’s experience is vital for Yamaha as he helps to develop the V4, while Razgatlioglu is tipped for success in his debut MotoGP season. With two champions and experience in the roster, Yamaha are a manufacturer to look out for, but their season depends on their development.

2 – Ducati

Ducati remain the dominant constructor in MotoGP and are expected to continue that trend in 2026. But their riders’ performance levels in 2025 have been contrasting, as all six will keep their seats next year.

Marc Marquez will be the clear favourite for the title after his dominance in 2025, while Alex Marquez will receive factory machinery in 2026 with his impressive displays. Fermin Aldeguer has had a breakthrough year and will look to kick on in his sophomore year.

However, the other three riders have left something to be desired, with Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio struggling with inconsistency. Francesco Bagnaia has had a torrid 2025 campaign on the GP25, as he looked more unmotivated than ever.

Ducati are ‘at the end of their rope’ with Bagnaia as friction begins to boil behind the scenes. While the Marquez brothers and Aldeguer give the Borgo Panigale outfit a reason to be excited, Bagnaia and VR46’s squad need drastic improvements.

1 – Aprilia

Aprilia have been Ducati’s closest rival in 2025, and they have every reason to believe that they could challenge again in 2026.

Marco Bezzecchi is having an incredible season on the RS-GP25, having taken the lead rider role. With one win, six podiums and three pole positions in 2025, Massimo Rivola thinks Bezzecchi could be champion in 2026; it is hard to argue he will not be a contender.

Jorge Martin has struggled immensely with injury this season, but his performances while fit prove he has the potential to succeed on the bike. With the contract dispute behind them, Aprilia can start to reap the benefits of having the 2024 champion on board.

Raul Fernandez has improved his results in 2025, while Ai Ogura has the talent to step up next year after a difficult rookie campaign. Everything is on the up at Aprilia, and they have the riders to make them an exciting project.
