Toprak Razgatlioglu has now offered his verdict on the crash between Ducati’s Marc Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia in the Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika.

MotoGP will be without its newly-crowned 2025 riders’ champion for the next two rounds in Australia and Malaysia after Marquez sustained a collarbone injury at Mandalika last Sunday after a collision with Bezzecchi. Ducati have stated that the Spaniard will not require surgery.

Marquez fell on the opening lap of the Indonesian GP after Bezzecchi misjudged their speed difference entering Turn 7, having been faster than the 32-year-old through Turns 5 and 6 sequence. Mandalika’s gravel trap partly caused Marquez’s injury, and it irked several riders.

Bezzecchi avoided any injury from his trip through Mandalika’s gravel trap, which forced the Aprilia rider to retire from the Indonesian GP. The 26-year-old will learn what penalty, if any, he receives for causing the collision in Australia after the FIM stewards deferred his hearing.

Toprak Razgatlioglu ‘really liked’ Marc Marquez’s support for Marco Bezzecchi after their Mandalika crash

BMW World Superbike rider Razgatlioglu thinks Bezzecchi and Marquez’s crash at Mandalika was simply a “racing incident”, as the Italian attempted to gain on the Spaniard but he made a “mistake”. It was an easy error for Bezzecchi to make, as he entered Turn 7 much quicker.

Razgatlioglu, who will join Pramac Yamaha from the 2026 MotoGP season, also “really liked” how Marquez urged fans to show Bezzecchi respect after their crash in Indonesia caused his injury. The Ducati rider asked fans to show “no hard feelings” towards Bezzecchi on Sunday.

“The incident between Bezzecchi and Marquez was a racing incident,” Razgatlioglu said, via quotes by Motosprint. “Marco tried and made a mistake, but it can happen. I really liked Marc’s message on social media. I think it’s fair to the fans, too.”

What did Marc Marquez say after his crash with Marco Bezzecchi caused a collarbone injury?

Marquez took to social media soon after last weekend’s Indonesian GP to update fans about his injury and to call for respect for Bezzecchi. The Ducati rider’s post also included a picture that showed abrasion marks on his chin, which were a result of the gravel trap at Mandalika.

“Not the best way to celebrate the championship, but this is racing,” Marquez posted on X. Today, we’ll fly to Madrid, and the doctors will evaluate everything. Please, no hard feelings towards Marco, nobody does it on purpose. Thanks for all your support.”

The Indonesian GP was the first Grand Prix since Marquez won the 2025 MotoGP riders’ title in Japan seven days earlier, to take the title with five rounds spare. But Marquez now cannot break his own win record, as he will miss, at least, the Grands Prix in Australia and Malaysia.

Marquez boasts 11 wins through his first 18 Grands Prix as a factory Ducati rider in the 2025 MotoGP season. But the Cervera native now cannot break his record for the most Grand Prix wins during a MotoGP season of 13 achieved from 18 rounds with Honda in the 2013 term.
