Marc Marquez is back to his best in MotoGP in 2025 with some dominant displays at Ducati. His home race in Barcelona could give him the chance to wrap up the title at Misano.
The 32-year-old has won a staggering 23 out of 28 races thus far, winning the last 14, including Sprints, in a row. Marquez has controlled the field in 2025 as he leads the championship by 175 points.
It was expected to be a much closer fight between the Ducati riders as the Spaniard linked up with Francesco Bagnaia. But the Italian has struggled to adapt to the GP25, while Marquez has continued to show that he can ride any bike to the maximum.
With just one win all season, Bagnaia is being battered by the other side of the garage in what must be a demoralising situation. Marquez crushes his teammates with his victory celebrations and the ‘energy’ he shows.
His level of dominance and the dip in form from Bagnaia and brother Alex Marquez mean he could wrap up the 2025 title by Misano if results go his way at Montmelo. This has led to some complaints about the MotoGP championship.

Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta disagrees with the complaint that Marc Marquez will be 2025 champion ‘too soon’
Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta discussed Marquez’s dominance at the launch event of the Catalan Grand Prix at the Miro Foundation on Wednesday. He stated that MotoGP would not prevent the Spaniard’s run of form, as the best rider should win the championship.
Speaking via Motorsport.com, Ezpeleta expressed his disagreement with the complaint that Marquez will be champion ‘too soon’. He notes that people felt the premier class ‘lacked a hero’ with multiple riders winning races in the past; Marquez has filled that void.
“The way things have been going, it’s not something that takes us by surprise,” he said, “But we can’t say it’s a done deal until it happens; anything can happen,” he said. “He can’t be champion in Barcelona, so we’re not going to think about it now.
“A few years ago, when there were many grand prix winners each year, people said that MotoGP lacked a hero.
“Now we have one, he wins every race, and the same people say that we will have a champion too soon. I don’t think so. Marc is having an extraordinary season, and when he has to be champion, he will be.”

Marc Marquez risks Luigi Dall’Igna’s fears coming true about Ducati with his 2025 dominance
Ducati have been the dominant force in MotoGP in recent years, but never have they seen the level of performance that Marquez is currently showing.
No other manufacturer has come close to challenging the Borgo Panigale outfit. Subsequently, Luigi Dall’Igna is worried about Ducati becoming ‘unpopular’ due to their dominance in 2025.
Marquez risks Dall’Igna’s fears coming true by winning with ease this season. Besides crashing in Austin and Jerez and suffering defeat at Le Mans and Silverstone, he has been almost untouchable in 2025.
He will be expected to continue his form at his home race at the Catalan GP. Interestingly, Marquez would ‘hate’ Montmelo if it wasn’t his home race, as it is not one of his strongest tracks on the calendar.
