Following Pramac’s acquisition of World Superbikes champion Toprak Razgatlioglu ahead of the 2026 MotoGP season, current riders Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira have been left in limbo regarding their own future in the sport.
A decision regarding Miller’s future in MotoGP was expected before the summer break. However, due to a last-minute bid for Diogo Moreira from LCR, the decision was delayed until after the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Miller is adamant about staying at Yamaha after declaring his love for the constructor ahead of the recent Austrian GP. The 30-year-old recently competed in the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race with the team.
Yamaha handed Oliveira a two-year deal beginning in 2025, which provides the Portuguese rider with full factory support at satellite team Pramac Racing. Despite Miller not having a contract for next year, it’s more likely that we will see the Australian on the grid next season over Oliveira.

Miguel Oliveira won’t make a ‘fuss’ over Yamaha contract as he accepts his exit from MotoGP
Speaking on an episode of Motorsport ES’s MotoGP podcast, journalists German Garcia Casanova and Oriol Puigdemont discussed the similarities between Jorge Martin’s contract situation with Aprilia and Oliveira’s at Yamaha.
The main difference, however, is that Oliveira is likely to accept Yamaha’s decision rather than appeal it like Aprilia did with Martin.
“When the [Dorna] CEO came out saying that Martin couldn’t sign with another team unless a judge allowed it, then surely they should say the same thing now, right?” said Casanova. “When Oliveira says, ‘I had a contract, but I was injured.'”
Puigdemont then responded with, “If Oliveira does complain, then maybe something happens. But honestly, I don’t see him pushing too hard. He seems to have accepted the situation.
“He himself says he has a contract and expects to see it through. We’ll see if he actually stays. If not, we’ll see his reaction, but I doubt he’ll make a huge fuss. He seems to have assumed that this could happen.”

Honda was eyeing up Manu Gonzalez as an alternative to Moreira if they were unable to get the deal over the line. Gonzalez is currently leading the Moto2 championship with nine rounds left to race.
