Jack Miller is one of few MotoGP riders yet to receive a definite decision on their MotoGP future beyond the end of 2025.
The Aussie has been waiting for Yamaha to make a decision on the second Pramac seat for months, ever since Toprak Razgatlioglu was announced as a rider for 2026 in June.
Despite remaining patient, consistent on the track and delivering a second place at the Suzuka 8 Hour, Japanese manufacturer are yet to decide whether to keep Miller for another year.
They handed the 30-year-old a lifeline last year, after the worst run of his MotoGP career to date with KTM. It was an opportunity he was grateful for.
Miller made an ’embarrassing’ admission after the Austrian Grand Prix and called the race the most shameful of his career so far.
With all four Yamahas occupying the last spots in Sunday’s race, Miller fumed at a ‘mad’ problem which left him searching far and wide for traction. The M1 did not suit the Red Bull Ring.

Luigi Dall’Igna ‘wouldn’t think twice’ about making Miller an offer if he were to officially lose his seat in MotoGP. He would like him to race for Ducati’s World Superbike outfit.
Before Austria, he had been on a solid run of form, with five points finishes in six races. Then he finished outside the points for the first time this season at Spielberg.
Understandably, post-summer break, frustration is starting to build for a rider who has arguably been Yamaha’s most consistent behind Fabio Quartararo.
According to GPOne, he has already set his own ‘deadline’ for a decision to be made on his future, and will act on it if Yamaha haven’t decided to renew with him by then.
“Personally, I have a deadline, but I won’t tell you,” he said. “I’ve been more than patient. If you want me, you want me. If not, you don’t want me. That’s clear.
“The more time goes by, the more I feel this way [Yamaha don’t want him]. More and more names are being added to the list. I was looking forward to developing the V4 and working closely with it, because I think I can provide a lot of input and information that can help with a project like this.”

Why Jack Miller could be very valuable to Yamaha’s MotoGP operation in 2026
Yamaha have made no secret of their desire to introduce the V4 bike in place of the M1 as soon as possible.
In its early stages, it will require a lot of development and experience to lead it to a place where it’s capable of competing.
Part of the answer to their issues lies in having a few riders with thousands of laps under their belt, on different machines, to give feedback.
Alex Rins ticks that box, Quartararo is a superstar, and Miller knows exactly what he’s doing too, having raced for multiple other manufacturers.
Having Razgatlioglu, a rookie in the category, means that Pramac require someone who knows their operation and systems if they want to move forward. Miller should be that man.
