Gino Borsoi explains why Pramac currently ‘can’t’ decide whether to keep Jack Miller

Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira have hit the summer break still none the wiser about who Yamaha want as Toprak Razgatlioglu’s Pramac teammate for the 2026 campaign.

The Japanese squad were expected to decide which rider will have a future at Pramac or not before the paddock broke up for the summer. Yet the 2025 MotoGP season has paused after the Czech Grand Prix without any confirmation about who will partner Razgatlioglu for 2026.

Yamaha created doubts about Pramac’s line-up for 2026 after the Iwata outfit signed double World Superbikes champion Razgatlioglu to a two-year factory contract this June. Miller was the first candidate to make way as his contract ends this term, yet Oliveira also faces doubts.

While Miller only got a one-year deal to join Pramac in 2025, Yamaha included an exit clause in Oliveira’s two-year contract to ride for their satellite team. The Portuguese’s clause is now valid as he hit the summer as the lowest-scoring Yamaha rider, with only six points this term.

Gino Borsoi reveals the ‘deadline’ to decide Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira’s futures has not passed

But Yamaha do not intend to decide Pramac’s 2026 rider line-up until the end of August now as they will also include Miller and Oliveira’s results from the Austrian and Hungarian Grands Prix. Yamaha are interested in Diogo Moreira or hiring his Moto2 rival Manuel Gonzalez, too.

Pramac team manager Gino Borsoi is also now having to ‘wait and see’ what Yamaha decide, as the Italian has now revealed that the ‘deadline’ at which the Iwata outfit can finalise their plans has not passed yet. Until then, Miller and Oliveira will just have to remain in the lurch.

In the meantime, Borsoi admits Yamaha and Pramac have both taken the ‘easiest’ option by laying the ‘blame’ on the other to decide Miller and Oliveira’s future. Borsoi says it will be a collaborative choice, instead of Yamaha managing director Paolo Pavesio having the last say.

Borsoi explained to SPEEDWEEK: “Right now, the easiest thing to do is [to] blame each other. I say Yamaha decides and Yamaha says Pramac decides, and so we continue.

“It’s a joint decision, as it was before, but there are contracts. Currently, there are contracts with our riders and we have a deadline. And until that deadline expires, we can’t make any decisions. For now, we have to wait and see what happens.”

Jack Miller could move to World Superbikes if Yamaha do not keep him at Pramac

Yamaha creating doubts about Miller’s future in MotoGP with Pramac has caught the eye of a number of teams in the World Superbikes paddock, which Razgatlioglu will leave to switch series next season. Miller could even potentially replace the Turkish talent at BMW for 2026.

The Australian could also potentially rekindle his past ties with Ducati at their WSBK team in 2026, having raced for the Bologna Bullets’ factory MotoGP team in 2021 and 2022 after his three-year run at Pramac. Yet rekindling the 30-year-old’s past ties with Honda is more likely.

Honda have made Miller an offer to move to World Superbikes and help lead their efforts to improve in the production bike series in 2026. Accepting their proposal could also see Miller possibly partner Jake Dixon at Honda’s WSBK team for 2026, with the Moto2 rider also liked.

Yet Yamaha could also throw a spanner into Honda’s plans for 2026 by offering Miller a place in their World Superbikes team, should the Iwata outfit decide to gift Razgatlioglu his seat at Pramac. Oliveira is expected to pursue a MotoGP test rider role if he is the one to make way.
