Marc Marquez has achieved so much in his MotoGP career and is set to smash multiple new records with Ducati in 2025.

The Spaniard leads the riders’ championship by 120 points over his brother, Alex, heading into the summer break.

Marquez is in unstoppable form, as he has been twice before, back in 2014 and 2019 with Honda. He holds some ridiculous records.

This year, Ducati are set to officially make him the oldest champion in the sport’s history, eclipsing Valentino Rossi by two years.

Marquez is a serial MotoGP champion for a reason, and his work ethic is unmatched by the grid. Nobody has been able to get close to his levels this year.

Although Ducati won’t want to admit it yet, Marquez could be the team’s best-ever rider despite only spending a season and a half on their bikes so far.

How Marc Marquez became MotoGP’s youngest ever back-to-back winner in 2013

One of the first records that the 32-year-old broke came back in his rookie season in 2013. It’s one that stands to this day.

Marquez won titles in each of his first two seasons, which included an astonishing streak of 10 consecutive victories at the start of 2014.

In 2013, he took his first two victories at two of his favourite tracks (COTA and Sachsenring) before etching his name into the history books once more.

With a victory in the 2013 United States Grand Prix at Laguna Seca, Marquez officially became MotoGP’s youngest-ever back-to-back victor.

Aged just 20 at the time, three months later, he would go on to secure the title, beating the likes of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo to the honour.

How much did Marc Marquez achieve during the 2013 MotoGP season?

After winning at Laguna Seca, Marquez went on a very impressive run of form. There were nine races to the end of the season after that, and he only missed the podium once.

That was due to a disqualification at Phillip Island for riding an 11-lap stint without pitting. Rival Bryan Staring suffered the same fate, too.

In the end, he just about secured enough points to clinch top honours, beating Lorenzo by just four points after the season finale in Valencia.

Despite winning each of the last three races, his fellow countryman didn’t quite have enough in the tank to overcome him and fell agonisingly short of what would’ve been a third crown at the time.
