MotoGP fans are all saying the same thing about Miguel Oliveira after ‘painful’ German Grand Prix crash

Miguel Oliveira is fighting for his future in MotoGP with Pramac. But the German Grand Prix has done him no favours.

The Portuguese rider missed out on Q2 at Sachsenring and could only manage P13. Meanwhile, Pramac teammate Jack Miller managed an impressive ninth as the Aussie hopes to secure his future in MotoGP.

Miller is contracted until 2025, giving him the least security. However, he has largely outperformed his Pramac teammate, who has only managed six points all season on the YZR-M1.

Oliveira is not meeting a performance clause in his contract, which would give Yamaha the ability to release him before 2026. The 30-year-old has missed four races through injury in 2025, but he has struggled to find any performance on the bike when fully fit.

With Pramac set to decide on Toprak Razgatlioglu’s teammate before the summer break, the German Grand Prix was vital for Oliveira to get points on the board. However, he suffered another disaster in 2025.

Fans think Miguel Oliveira’s MotoGP career is over after German Grand Prix crash

Oliveira managed 11th in the Sprint race at Sachsenring, but Miller finished a strong P5, just five seconds off the podium. The Portuguese rider only lasted four laps in Sunday’s Grand Prix.

Oliveira, Pedro Acosta and Lorenzo Savadori crashed out in quick succession at different parts of the circuit. While the latter got going again, the Pramac and KTM riders were out on the spot.

Given the pressure he is facing to stay in MotoGP, fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their feelings about Oliveira’s chances of staying on the grid.

“It… looks like this will indeed be Miguel Oliveira’s last in MotoGP,” said one fan, while another said: “Today confirms whether Miguel Oliveira will exit MotoGP.”

Many fans were not impressed by yet another crash for the Pramac rider: “There’s no way to be happy with this ridiculous Miguel Oliveira phase…” said one fan, while another echoed: “Miguel Oliveira falling. I can’t believe it.”

“Pramac will have to decide between Miller and Oliveira. Meanwhile, one is in 8th and the other in the gravel. It’s been like this for a long time. The chances of having Oliveira in MotoGP next season are very slim,” wrote one user.

Finally, one fan pointed Oliveira towards World Superbikes for 2026: “Miguel Oliveira needs to start thinking about which Super Bikes team he’ll be riding for soon… Because this in MotoGP is getting to be painful. It was a pleasure.”

Jack Miller dominates Miguel Oliveira at the German Grand Prix as Pramac decision looms

In a crash-filled German GP where only 10 riders finished the race, Miller kept himself on the track and came home P8. With this result, the Aussie has given himself a great chance of staying on the grid.

Pramac would choose Miller ‘right now’ if they had to make a choice between their riders. His performance at Sachsenring will surely have secured his seat over Oliveira, who suffered his third retirement of the season.

Oliveira says injuries are the reason Miller is beating him in 2025. While he has missed valuable races this season, he has lacked performance on the bike.

Oliveira’s injury could be his ‘alibi’ and help him cement his place on the grid in 2026. But Miller is doing the business on the track and is giving Pramac a headache with their rider line-up.
