Miguel Oliveira is fighting to stay on the MotoGP grid after Pramac signed Toprak Razgatlioglu to their line-up for 2026.
The two-time World Superbikes champion has finally confirmed his move to MotoGP for next season. Razgatlioglu’s arrival leaves Pramac with three riders on their books.
Either Jack Miller or Oliveira will be leaving the Tuscany-based outfit at the end of the 2025 season. Gino Borsoi apologised to Miller and Oliveira as the team will have to part company with one of their talents.
On paper, Miller is the least secure, given that he is only contracted until 2025. However, his teammate is not safe despite having a two-year factory deal. Oliveira is not meeting his performance clause, which would give Yamaha the freedom to drop him early.
Pramac would choose Miller ‘right now’ if they had to decide between their two current riders. It leaves Oliveira’s future hanging in the balance as he struggles to find form in 2025.

Miguel Oliveira claims he is ‘calm’ amid 2026 Pramac seat battle with Jack Miller
Despite the prospect of him taking his seat, Oliveira talked up Razgatlioglu’s arrival in MotoGP. The Portuguese rider, like many in the premier class, is excited to see what he can do.
He doubled down on his comments in an interview with Moto.It. Oliveira says he is ‘calm’ amid the pressure he is facing from Miller to keep his seat.
“So, as I said, I already said in Aragon, the arrival of Toprak is very much appreciated because, among Yamaha, all of us riders, we too are curious to see what he can do in MotoGP as a rider,” he said.
“Definitely very interesting and I’m focused on doing well this year, creating the situation for myself, optimising everything I have.
“So, my potential, the potential of the bike and also the potential of the team, that’s my goal. And I’m aware of the challenge that Yamaha has, but at the same time I’m calm and I know my place.”

Miguel Oliveira simply must step up his game if he wants to stay at Pramac in 2026
While Oliveira will be confident about his chances of staying in MotoGP, Miller is the clear favourite to be retained.
Oliveira says injuries are why Miller is beating him, given that he missed four races after a collision with Fermin Aldeguer in Argentina. However, he has failed to perform when fully fit, scoring just six points compared to Miller’s 33.
Pramac have given Oliveira an ultimatum as he has a ‘couple of weeks’ to save his career. He has managed only a best finish of 13th all season.
The Portuguese rider simply has to improve if he wants to land a seat at Pramac over Miller. But given his current form and technical expertise, the Aussie looks set to stay in MotoGP.
