Jack Miller’s MotoGP future is hanging in the balance as his contract with Pramac runs out at the end of the season.
Yamaha have bolstered their ranks for 2026 by signing Toprak Razgatlioglu. The two-time World Superbike champion will join Pramac as he finally makes the switch to MotoGP, but his move has put the team’s current riders at risk of dropping off the grid.
Miller is out of contract in 2025, giving him the least security. Miguel Oliveira has a two-year deal with Pramac, but the Portuguese rider is not safe.
Oliveira is not meeting the performance clause in his contract, which would allow Yamaha to move him on if his results do not improve. With just three points to his name thus far, he will need to seriously up his game if he is to retain his seat over Miller.
The Aussie has struggled for consistency in 2025, with four retirements from the opening nine races leaving him 19th in the standings with 31 points. On paper, it leaves something to be desired, but Miller’s impact at Yamaha has been invaluable for the manufacturer.

Jack Miller reminds Yamaha he’s helped turn the bike into a ‘hot commodity’ amid 2026 Pramac decision
Pramac ‘saved’ Miller’s career by offering him a deal for 2025. Since joining Yamaha, he has had a huge impact behind the scenes as he helps to develop the YZR-M1 and the new V4 engine.
Yamaha have talked up Miller’s work in the background, and the 30-year-old has reminded the Japanese outfit of his efforts as Pramac’s decision nears closer.
Speaking with Speedweek, Miller outlined his intentions to stay with Yamaha. He reminded the manufacturer how he helped to develop the bike into a ‘hot commodity’ when both of their stocks were low.
“My plan is to stay with Yamaha. I like the project and believe I can give even more here. That’s our priority, and that’s where we’re focusing our energy right now.
“I’m looking forward to this weekend. Hopefully, the cooler conditions will bring something better. We want to put last weekend’s technical difficulties behind us and come back with a solid result.
“It’s frustrating, of course. But that’s motorcycle racing. We’re developing the bike very quickly right now, and these things happen.
“The team has only had the bike for six months. We’re all still learning. Nobody wanted to touch this bike twelve months ago, and now it’s a hot commodity. That shows we’re doing something right.”

Jack Miller is the favourite to stay at Pramac in 2026
Pramac have moved forward their decision-making process for 2026. They will announce Razgatlioglu’s teammate for next year before the summer break.
Yamaha would re-sign Miller over Oliveira if they had to make a decision ‘right now’. His experience and technical feedback will be hugely significant for not just Yamaha but also Razgatlioglu as he gets accustomed to MotoGP.
Miller looks to be the clear favourite for the seat as the team begins to narrow down their options. Pramac will not sign Manu Gonzalez, as Gino Borsoi claims he is not yet fit for the team.
The Aussie does have other offers on the table, with Miller being linked with a move to WSBK with Honda. While their offer is a lucrative one, the 30-year-old seems set on staying with Pramac, and he stands a good chance of landing a new deal.
