Marc Marquez has dominated MotoGP since the six-time champion joined the works Ducati team for 2025, to ride the same GP25 that Fabio Di Giannantonio has at VR46.
Only the works Ducati duo of Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia plus Di Giannantonio at VR46 have the Desmosedici GP25, which has won six of the first nine Grands Prix this year and six pole positions. Marquez took all six of those poles, plus five race wins and eight Sprint wins.
Marquez is now on course to match Valentino Rossi as a seven-time premier class champion in the 2025 MotoGP season. The 32-year-old leads the riders’ standings ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix event at the TT Circuit Assen with 270 points to Gresini ace Alex Marquez on 230.
Bagnaia trails Marquez with only 160, putting the two-time champion nearer to VR46 racers Franco Morbidelli on 128 and Di Giannantonio on 120. Di Giannantonio taunted Bagnaia at Mugello last time out, as well, after he overtook him for third place in the Italian Grand Prix.

Fabio Di Giannantonio hails Jorge Martin for having a ‘perfect’ riding style
Yet despite Marquez’s dominance since moving from Gresini into the factory Ducati squad, it is Jorge Martin who Di Giannantonio believes is the most technical rider on the grid. He feels the 2024 champion boasts a ‘perfect’ riding style, as Martin has ‘evolved’ like Jorge Lorenzo.

Marquez’s long-time former Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa also ‘always’ stood out to Diggia during the 39-year-old’s competitive career. The Spaniard raced for the factory Honda team from 2006 to 2018 and finished second for the title three times, as well as third three times.
Di Giannantonio told Moto.it: “Pedrosa has always been a sort of [Roger] Federer, clean. But if I have to choose someone with whom I have fought for entire seasons, it is Jorge Martin.
“He has evolved a bit like Jorge Lorenzo. When I look at my footage, I see that I am not always perfect, while he is more so.”
When will Jorge Martin return from injury after his crash in the Qatar Grand Prix?

Martin is yet to show the riding style that Di Giannantonio admires in 2025, as Aprilia await his return from injury. The 27-year-old has only featured once on the RS-GP25 so far, having suffered a hemopneumothorax and 11 broken ribs during his crash in the Qatar Grand Prix.
Aprilia will send Martin for a check-up with Dr Angel Charte on Monday as the Spaniard bids to return at the Czech Grand Prix on July 18-20. But Martin is still looking to leave Aprilia this term, despite agreeing to join the Noale factory for the 2025 season on a two-year contract.
The Italian outfit targeted the Madrid native after Ducati overlooked Martin to sign Marquez to replace Enea Bastianini. Aprilia saw Martin as their ideal new captain with Aleix Espargaro retiring as a race rider, and the Spaniard is now an eight-time Grand Prix winner in MotoGP.
