Ducati’s Italian Grand Prix has gone just about as well as a home race can and now they have shocked fans with a special addition to their bikes.
Marc Marquez won yet another sprint race on Saturday, to the displeasure of the home faithful, whose ties remain with the retired Valentino Rossi.
Marquez sent a message to Italian Grand Prix fans who booed him, and hopes that they have enjoyed his terrific comeback from injury over the last few seasons.
Honda’s loss has been Ducati’s gain, as they have inherited a superstar who remains at the top of his game at the age of 32.
Francesco Bagnaia showed ‘remarkable’ sportsmanship to Marquez, and the two factory Ducati riders appear to have a good relationship after nearly half a season together.
In fact, Bagnaia planned to ‘ask’ Marquez for help at Mugello after struggling with the setup of his GP25 bike all season long.

MotoGP fans give Ducati a ’10/10′ for ‘special’ Italian Grand Prix livery
Marquez and Bagnaia are fighting ‘an internal war’ as they want different parts on their bikes at different tracks on the calendar.
One thing they must share is a livery. Ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, Ducati unveiled a striking new design for the Mugello race.
On social media, it generated quite the response. Speaking on X (formerly known as Twitter), these fans were delighted with the new colours.
“This looks stunning oh my god, I hope this special livery didn’t [doesn’t] bring bad luck,” they said.
“Awesome,” wrote another elated individual, while another fan complimented the artistic view of the machine, “Art meets speed in the most Italian way possible.”
The livery received the highest of praise from one fan who said, “10/10! Leave it on for the rest of the year please!”
While Ducati were backed for home success as a result of their elaborate new colours, “So cool. And they will 99% win the race,” said someone else.
And finally, one last comment read “Beautiful,” ahead of the Italian Grand Prix.
Why Ducati’s rivals are finding it ‘difficult’ to copy Marc Marquez
Marquez has more than a weekend’s worth of advantage at the top of the standings, but continues to push on.
In fact, by winning a seventh title in 2025 at the age of 32, he would be setting a new record for the oldest champion ever.
Ducati’s rivals find it ‘difficult’ to copy Marquez, but mainly because it’s tricky to emulate what he can achieve on a bike.
At times, he’s astounding. It’s why he was booed by the Italian fans who have to continue to witness his successes after an improbable injury comeback, and he might even be far from done.
