Marco Rigamonti explains why Ducati rivals are finding it ‘difficult’ to copy Marc Marquez amid 2025 dominance

Marc Marquez seems to have always had an advantage over the MotoGP field in 2025 and no one has been able to eliminate it.

Yes, Ducati have been beaten multiple times, but at some stage at every race, Marquez has been able to flex his muscles and sit at the top.

The Spaniard has won seven of eight MotoGP sprint races on offer this year, showing that he seems to enjoy riding particularly on Saturdays.

At the Grand Prix of Aragon, he was in fine form. Marquez broke an incredible 10-year feat by topping every session in a weekend for the first time since the 2015 German Grand Prix.

After some critical mistakes, Marquez has proved he’s desperate to avoid one thing for the rest of this season. He wants to avoid crashing at all costs.

Franco Morbidelli doesn’t think Marquez tells the truth about his bike. The six-time premier class champion claims he’s on a modified GP24, but his Ducati colleagues claim otherwise.

Marco Rigamonti says copying Marc Marquez’s MotoGP approach is ‘difficult’ for his rivals

Anyone who watches two-wheeled racing knows how special Marquez is. At the age of 32, he has the opportunity to become the oldest champion in history this year.

Marquez needs one thing to be ‘unbeatable’ at Ducati, by improving just a little bit more in right-hand corners. He’s already formidable in left turns, now he needs just that little bit extra in the rights.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Marco Rigamonti, Marquez’s crew chief, revealed just why his rivals find it so ‘difficult’ to emulate him.

“You can see where it makes the difference, which is at the entrance and especially in the left turns. But tell you what he does on the bike to make that difference, it’s all so fast, that it’s hard to see precisely.

“You can see more or less what he does, but explaining to another driver that ‘he makes this curve this way, you have to do it like this’ is a little difficult.”

Why Marc Marquez’s mother has ‘suffered’ amid Alex Marquez battle after Aragon

Roser Alenta is the mother of two MotoGP race-winners, and both notable title protagonists during the 2025 season.

Marc has won six of his own championships before this year, while Alex has never really been in the battle at the front in MotoGP. It’s something new to him.

Marquez’s mother says she has ‘suffered’ watching her sons go through the ups and downs of motorsport through the years.

Now, she’s ready to enjoy an almost unimaginable situation at the highest level. Her boys will fight each other (almost exclusively) for the right to lift some precious silverware.
