Pramac Yamaha are assessing their options for the 2026 MotoGP season. World Superbike rider Toprak Razgatlioglu has emerged as a possible target.

Pramac have a seat available come 2026, with Jack Miller being out of contract at the end of 2025. Yamaha gave the Aussie a lifeline in MotoGP after he departed from KTM.

Despite retiring from the last three races, the 30-year-old is impressing at the Tuscany-based team. Pramac manager Gino Borsoi can imagine Miller staying, having settled in smoothly at Yamaha.

Miller is also receiving ‘protection’ from Dorna CEO Carlos Ezpeleta, as he wants to keep an Australian rider in MotoGP. Honda have offered the 30-year-old a contract to switch to World Superbikes in 2026, with Razgatlioglu targeting a move to the premier class.

The Turkish rider has been linked with MotoGP for some time, with it being previously reported that he was looking to join in 2027 for the new regulations and Pirelli tyres. However, Razgatlioglu has his heart set on MotoGP in 2026, blowing open the rider market.

The 28-year-old has a couple of suitors for the 2026 season. But it appears Yamaha might have missed their opportunity.

Yamaha miss the deadline to respond to Toprak Razgatlioglu’s management

Honda have been heavily linked with Razgatlioglu. The Japanese outfit have two seats available, with Luca Marini and Johann Zarco out of contract with HRC and LCR respectively.

However, Yamaha are rivalling Honda for Razgatlioglu as they target the 28-year-old for 2026. With Pramac seemingly looking to keep Miller on board, teammate Miguel Oliveira is likely the rider under threat, despite having a contract until next year.

In a report from Paddock GP, Razgatlioglu is ‘open to a move to Pramac’. The team are currently bottom of the standings, but have not been helped by Oliveira missing four races through injury.

Yamaha have shown ‘concrete progress’ in 2025 and look like an exciting project in 2026. But they may have missed the chance to get their rider, as the report by Paddock GP states that the manufacturer ‘did not respond within the time limits’ set by Razgatlioglu’s management.

Yamaha’s missed deadline might open the door for Honda to sign Toprak Razgatlioglu

It is unknown whether Yamaha will continue their pursuit of Razgatlioglu. Their missed deadline could be an opportunity for Honda to strike a deal.

Kevin Schwantz says Razgatlioglu would be ‘amazing’ at Honda in MotoGP. The Turkish rider will be a name mentioned throughout the 2025 season, but the Japanese outfit have several options to consider.

Jorge Martin is eyeing a move to Honda after he activated his exit clause with Aprilia. The defending champion wants to leave the Noale outfit early as he is unsatisfied with the RS-GP25.

The Spaniard’s bombshell has already caused chaos in the rider market. Zarco is likely to stay at LCR if Honda signs Martin, provided he is given a two-year deal and a factory bike.

Razgatlioglu remains an option, but Martin will surely be the priority if he breaks free from his Aprilia contract. However, Honda are incredibly active in the rider market, with Joan Mir’s future also in doubt.
