Marc Marquez could be set to enjoy one of his most dominant MotoGP seasons of all time if he maintains his form throughout 2025.
The combination of the six-time champion and a factory Ducati has been almost unstoppable, except for his Grand Prix of the Americas mistakes. It’s the only thing which has stood in the way of a 100% record.
Marquez has been joined at the front by brother and Gresini rider Alex Marquez, who has hit career form and finished second in seven of eight races.
It would be very impressive for them to maintain the level of performance delivered so far this season, especially considering that there are 18 MotoGP races left this campaign.
Marquez spent days reflecting on his Austin crash, which would have seen him hold a runaway lead in the standings by now.
Marquez thinks Ducati could change their mind on Alex, especially if he takes his first win and can challenge for at least second in the championship. He might receive more favourable terms.

Marc Marquez tells Alex Marquez that 2025 MotoGP achievements are ‘not normal’
Alex currently sits just 16 points behind Marc, and is still patiently waiting for an opportunity to claim his first MotoGP victory after 92 races.
The younger Marquez was blamed for a collision in Qatar as he showed signs of too much aggression, which is a sight rarely seen from the 28-year-old.
Marc has been reminding him that their current successes won’t last forever, and to soak it all up while it is happening.
“Due to the three to four years of being hurt, I appreciate what’s happening right now, and the moment my brother and I are going through, all the more,” he told Motorsport-Total.
“After every Saturday, I tell him in the meetings that this is not normal. Not every weekend will be like now. But yes, I enjoy it more than before.”

Can Alex Marquez do anything more than finish runner-up in the 2025 MotoGP championship?
Four rounds into the campaign, and it’s pretty clear that Alex needs Ducati to trust him with an upgraded spec of bike if he is to challenge his brother.
After losing the riders’ championship to one of their satellite teams last year (Pramac and Jorge Martin), they won’t want to repeat that feat.
Few would have predicted that Alex could win his first race in 2025, let alone challenge for the title against his brother on a dominant factory bike.
But as long as the gap doesn’t grow too large between the two and they remain confident, anything could, and usually does happen.
As shown at COTA, it only takes one mistake for the race to be blown wide open. Alex just needs to remain patient and he could find himself in a position to compete for the title.
