Francesco Guidotti makes Pedro Acosta prediction about KTM future amid MotoGP uncertainty

Pedro Acosta’s start to the 2025 MotoGP season has been far from ideal and it has left him way down the championship order.

The 20-year-old, who had hopes of winning the odd race and springing a surprise this campaign, has struggled to cope with KTM’s bike.

Acosta was never afraid to make mistakes before, but now it appears that they are happening as frequently as ever.

He threw a good result away at the Grand Prix of the Americas when he fell off his bike and the same happened in Thailand.

Acosta may have signed a ‘pre-agreement’ to leave KTM amid the manufacturer’s uncertain future and MotoGP struggles.

Cameras caught Acosta directing a rival boss to his manager in Austin and it appears that no door is closed regarding his future.

Francesco Guidotti believes Pedro Acosta is ‘already’ positioned to leave KTM’s MotoGP outfit

KTM’s financial uncertainty may have begun to plague their performance on track. Their bike wasn’t developed well over the winter and they have fallen behind their rivals.

Acosta has received a difficult message and his moves in the rider market prove that he doesn’t want to entertain his current situation for too long. He wants things to improve.

Francesco Guidotti believes that the Spaniard’s manager is already positioning him to leave the team in the future.

“In my opinion his manager is already to put him in a position to get out of that quagmire,” he told GPOne. “The terms of the contract could also provide for an exit, we’ll see.

“In the next couple of months there will definitely be something at the company level for KTM and that’s what could unlock the situation.”

Why Pedro Acosta’s current MotoGP situation is so frustrating

Judging past results, Acosta hasn’t finished lower than sixth in a championship since 2019, back when he was 15 years old.

Now he sits 13th in the riders’ standings and will be hoping that KTM’s on track performance improves enough for him to compete for podiums again.

Whether or not he will be able to take his first victory with them is up in the air, but that all depends on the grid’s rate of development, as well as theirs.

Acosta has urged KTM to understand their 2025 bike and knows that there is more performance on the table if they can find a more consistent baseline.

Starting with the Qatar Grand Prix, they must begin to focus on extracting more from the RC16 as the sport gears up for a return to Europe at the end of April. Success may be around the corner.
