Marc Marquez started his Ducati tenure in fine style by claiming a comfortable victory at the Thailand Grand Prix.
He led home his brother Alex Marquez by just under two seconds under the intense Buriram heat to top off an excellent weekend.
Ducati’s bikes are the class of the field and the Italian manufacturer looks well placed to dominate again in 2025.
Marquez’s victories in both he sprint and Grand Prix mean that he already has an eight-point advantage at the top of the riders’ championship.

Marc Marquez says Alex Marquez ‘will win’ MotoGP races in 2025
It may come as a surprise to some that Alex is yet to win a MotoGP race after 89 starts. Since joining Gresini, his performances have found another gear.
Pre-season testing at both Sepang and Buriram showed that he may be in the fight for podiums this year, but the expectation was that there would be some drop-off from him in true competition.
Marquez admitted Gresini are ‘not ready’ for a title fight and believes it will take some more time before they can consistently challenge Ducati’s factory bikes.
Being at the front every weekend will be a great experience for him and serve him well, so much so that his brother has backed him to take his first win and more this year.
“But believe me that he will win races this year,” he said in a video posted on MotoGP’s X account after the Thailand Grand Prix.

The brothers haven’t had too much of an opportunity to clash much on track since sharing the grid, with Alex’s arrival in MotoGP coinciding with Honda’s downfall.
He made a switch to Ducati machinery one year before his brother, before they rode together at the Italian team in 2024.
It only lasted one year before they switched to their current predicament, which sees Marc in a fantastic position to earn a seventh championship.

Not only is he the favourite currently, but he would break Valentino Rossi’s record for being the oldest premier-class champion ever at the age of 32.
Marc sent a three-word warning to Alex after his impressive running in pre-season. After the first race of the season, he may want to heed a stronger warning.
