‘Anonymous’ Trackhouse manager has just made big admission over lack of sponsors on MotoGP bike

Trackhouse are preparing for their sophomore MotoGP season with a new driver line-up. Moto2 champion Ai Ogura has arrived as a replacement for Miguel Oliveira.

American outfit Trackhouse joined the grid in 2024, replacing RNF in the Aprilia stable. They finished ninth in the standings with 141 points, three behind the Yamaha factory team.

Raul Fernandez delivered their best result to date at the Catalan Grand Prix when he finished sixth. Their prospects of a first podium this year are unclear, with Jorge Martin’s injury perhaps disguising Aprilia’s true pace during testing.

Trackhouse unveiled a Suzuki-like livery when they kicked off MotoGP launch season last month. The lack of sponsor decals raised concerns, however.

The team logo dominates the side profile, with the Gulf emblem visible on the brake cover. Tyre suppliers Michelin also feature.

Trackhouse are managed by Davide Brivio, who has previously worked for Yamaha and Suzuki in the premier class. He also had a stint in Formula 1 with Alpine.

Bare Trackhouse bike is ‘not good for MotoGP’, team source says

Trackhouse couldn’t even afford a professional photographer for their launch, according to one journalist. This, in combination with the shortage of sponsors, paints a picture of a cash-strapped operation.

For team owner Justin Marks, the priority may be NASCAR. They have won eight races since entering the series in 2022.

Speedweek report that an ‘anonymous’ managerial figure at Trackhouse has complained about the sponsorship situation. They say it harms the image of MotoGP as it tries to compete for attention below Formula 1.

Their short statement read: “Something like that is not good for MotoGP, it does not reflect well on us.”

The team in the biggest financial trouble is clearly KTM. The company’s debts, which total around £2bn, are threatening the future of the racing division.

Trackhouse staff have made exciting 2025 prediction after seeing Ai Ogura’s testing times

Trackhouse suffered a blow on day one of the Sepang test when Fernandez was injured. He missed the rest of the action in Malaysia as he returned to Europe.

Surprisingly, the Spaniard was able to return in time for Buriram. Fernandez can’t adopt a ‘natural’ riding position as he recovers, so it may take time for him to show his best form.

On the other side of the garage, there’s real optimism around Ogura. He was one of the standout riders of pre-season.

Trackhouse believe they could have ‘a great year’ after seeing Ogura’s times. There’s even hope that he could make it into Q2 on his debut at the Thailand Grand Prix.
