Brad Binder already knows he’s losing his KTM seat at the end of the season, and a soft landing at satellite team Tech3 looks unlikely.
KTM recently confirmed the signings of Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio, but these moves have been public knowledge for months.
Binder isn’t thought to be one of the leading contenders for the other two KTM bikes at Tech3. Guenther Steiner is set to sign Luca Marini, with Moto2 teammates Senna Agius and Manuel Gonzalez seemingly fighting for the second seat.

Is Brad Binder’s mind already on 2027 as KTM exit looms?
According to a recent report from Motorpasion Moto, both KTM and Tech3 lack confidence in Binder, who has looked ‘increasingly unmotivated’ lately.
Binder has scored points at six consecutive races, tying his best streak since the first half of the 2024 season. However, he hasn’t reached Q2 in any of the last four events, which is lowering his ceiling on a Sunday.
Tech3’s Enea Bastianini, who is expected to join Trackhouse next year, has become KTM’s second-best rider behind Pedro Acosta by beating Binder in eight out of 11 Grands Prix.
Steiner is determined to sign one experienced rider, but clearly rates Marini above Binder. The Italian is 15 points ahead in the championship despite riding an inferior bike (based on the constructors’ standings).
Here’s how we think the MotoGP standings will look at the end of the season. What would you change?
With no seats still in play elsewhere, Binder’s best hope of racing at the elite level next year is moving to World Superbikes, just as Miguel Oliveira did when he lost his Pramac seat at the end of 2025.
While Maverick Vinales would sooner retire than switch disciplines, the Spanish edition of Motorsport.com state that Binder would ‘welcome’ the opportunity. He could be joined by Jack Miller and Alex Rins.
Binder is an option for BMW, though Gonzalez could ironically compete for that seat if Tech3 decide to go with Agius.
Michael Laverty has heard a rumour that Binder could move to MotoAmerica, but WSBK remains the likeliest plan B.
