Pedro Acosta has strongly advocated for KTM teammate Brad Binder to keep his place on the MotoGP grid for next season.
Ahead of this weekend’s German Grand Prix, KTM announced Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio as their 2027 riders, confirming that Binder would lose his seat.
Rumours suggest satellite team Tech3 are the only team yet to finalise their line-up, and Binder is not thought to be one of their leading contenders.
Which at-risk MotoGP veteran deserves a seat on next year’s grid the most? 🤔

Pedro Acosta: If it was up to me, Brad Binder would have a seat for next year
Speaking in his Thursday media session, Acosta praised Binder’s work ethic, even if it doesn’t necessarily show in his results.
Binder arrives at the Sachsenring 13th in the championship on 58 points, while Acosta is seventh on 133.
The South African has only made two Q2 appearances in 10 races, but his teammate has a 100% record. With three podiums already this year, Acosta has consistently been in the mix at the front as Binder scraps in the midfield (hence his average finishing position of 10th).
“I’d give him a MotoGP bike, for sure,” Acosta said, via AS. “There have been very few people, I’m telling you, who have put in as much effort as Brad.

“In the end, for one reason or another, he’s not getting the results he deserves, but I’d definitely give him a MotoGP bike.”
Tech3 are expected to sign Luca Marini, who is set to lose his Honda seat, and Moto2 star Senna Agius is the favourite for the second seat.
Asked if Binder was more deserving than Marini, Acosta said: “That’s hard to say, but I’d give him a MotoGP bike, if not at Tech3, then on any team. I’d give him a MotoGP bike anywhere. I’d even give him mine now.”
Acosta has consistently defended Binder despite the extremely one-sided nature of their intra-team battle.
Two-time premier-class winner Binder is one of several veteran riders who could drop off the grid at the end of the year alongside the likes of Alex Rins, Jack Miller and Franco Morbidelli.
