Fabio Quartararo has picked out his dream MotoGP five-a-side team, naming the best riders in different categories.
Quartararo, 27, became the first Frenchman to win the world title in the premier class back in 2021 when he clinched the MotoGP championship while riding for Yamaha.
However, in 2026, Quartararo has struggled, having only scored 37 points in the opening six races, leaving him 13th in the world championship standings. His teammate, Alex Rins, is 19th with just nine points.
Ahead of this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, which will take place around the Mugello Circuit, Quartararo was asked to pick his dream five-a-side line-up filled with MotoGP riders.

The 27-year-old was asked to name the best rider for categories such as ‘Who makes the best saves?, ‘Who is the hardest to pass?’, ‘Who is the best tactically?’, ‘Who is the most exciting?’ and ‘Who is the best finisher?’.
This is how the conversation went down with TNT Sports as Quartararo picked himself as the rider who is the hardest to pass.
Interviewer: “Goalkeeper – who makes the best saves?”
Quartararo: “Marc Marquez.”
Interviewer: “Defender – who is the hardest to pass?”
Quartararo: “Me!”
Interviewer: “In midfield – who is the best tactically?”
Quartararo: “I would say, (Pedro) Acosta.”
Interviewer: “For the playmaker, who is the most exciting?”
Quartararo: “Pecco (Francesco Bagnaia).”
Interviewer: “And for the striker, who is the best finisher?”
Quartararo: “(Marco) Bezzecchi.”

Looking ahead, Quartararo is set to leave Yamaha and join Honda for 2027 and 2028.
It was previously reported that Quartararo had signed his deal with Honda before even riding Yamaha’s 2026 MotoGP bike.
Speaking ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, Quartararo admitted that he has ‘no expectations’ and stated that Yamaha could be in for a ‘difficult weekend’.
As per Speedweek, the Frenchman said: “I have no expectations. It’s going to be a difficult weekend for us. At the moment, however, it is my priority to enjoy it.
“Power is not the main problem. I think that the steering behaviour and the grip we currently have are too little.
“In the past, the cornering behaviour was very good, and the grip was acceptable. At the moment, both are bad, plus our engine. It’s going to be hard!”
