Manu Gonzalez is attracting interest from the Honda World Superbike team, but the Moto2 championship leader is holding on to a chance at MotoGP as he eyes Trackhouse and Tech3.
The Spaniard has been on the radar of the MotoGP paddock since last year. Gonzalez looked on course to win the Moto2 title in 2025, but lost out to Diogo Moreira, who went on to sign with LCR Honda in 2026.
Who should fill the 2027 satellite seats?
This is what it's looking like, based on the rumours
In 2026, the 23-year-old is looking to right the wrongs of last season, as he leads the championship by 18.5 points. Gonzalez has won two races and scored five podiums from the opening six races, yet interest from MotoGP teams has quietened down.
The likes of Daniel Holgado, David Alonso, Izan Guevara, Senna Agius and Celestino Vietti either have signed with MotoGP teams or are in negotiations. Gonzalez stands a much lower chance of getting onto the grid in 2027, but he is still keeping tabs on two teams.

Manu Gonzalez is eyeing Trackhouse and Tech3 for a 2027 MotoGP seat
Gonzalez’s manager cannot believe how some riders are still in MotoGP as he tries to find his rider a seat in the premier class. He has listed World Superbikes as an alternative, with Honda believed to have tabled an offer.
According to a report from Motopassion Moto, he would be replacing Somkiat Chantra, who is struggling just as much in WSBK as he did in MotoGP with LCR in 2025. However, Gonzalez is stalling on that offer, as he is eyeing a move to Trackhouse Aprilia or KTM Tech3.
Does Manuel Gonzalez deserve a seat in MotoGP in 2027?
The Spaniard’s ‘main hope’ is to sign with the former. Gonzalez tested with Trackhouse at Aragon in 2025, and the team are yet to confirm their 2027 riders, with Ai Ogura joining Yamaha and Raul Fernandez’s future being uncertain.
Likewise, Tech3 have not decided on their riders, having recently confirmed that they will stay with KTM amid interest from Honda. The likes of Brad Binder, Maverick Vinales and Gonzalez’s Moto2 rival Agius are all being linked with the French outfit in 2027.

BMW and Ducati are other alternatives for Manu Gonzalez in WSBK
If MotoGP proves to be off the table for the Moto2 championship leader, WSBK looks to be the best alternative, with Honda standing by to sign him.
But the Japanese giants may not be the only option. As per a report from The Race, other factories could open a seat for Gonzalez.
Should Danilo Petrucci or Miguel Oliveira leave the sport, BMW could be an option for the Spaniard. Ducati could even have a seat for him, as Nicolo Bulega fights for a seat with VR46 in MotoGP next season.
