Jorge Martin has won a dramatic battle with Aprilia teammate Marco Bezzecchi at the French Grand Prix, claiming a double victory at Le Mans from the third row of the grid.
The Spaniard produced another stunning performance to clinch his first Grand Prix win for Aprilia. Bezzecchi led for most of the race but had to settle for second ahead of Trackhouse’s Ai Ogura, claiming his first MotoGP podium.

Most riders moved up a place on the grid following Marc Marquez’s withdrawal from the race after his crash in the Sprint. Pecco Bagnaia was hoping to convert his pole position to victory at the French Grand Prix, having finished third on Saturday.
However, the Ducati rider had a terrible start off the line, dropping down to P4 as Bezzecchi glided into the lead ahead of Pedro Acosta and Fabio Quartararo.

Jorge Martin wins tense French Grand Prix over Marco Bezzecchi
Bezzecchi bridged a gap to the front in the early stages, but Bagnaia used his newfound comfort on the Ducati GP26 to fight back to P2. After getting past Quartararo, he lunged down the inside of Acosta at turn two on lap seven in a stunning move.
The Ducati rider looked to close the gap to Bezzecchi, but the Aprilia rider maintained his lead, allowing Acosta to put pressure on Bagnaia behind. It soon became too much for the Italian, as he lost the front on lap 16 at turn two and retired from the race.

With Bagnaia out, it opened the door for Bezzecchi to command the race, and for Aprilia to snatch another one-two finish. Martin had strong pace throughout the race and passed Acosta into turn two in the closing stages for P2.
Martin set his sights on catching his teammate for the win, closing down the gap every lap, while Ogura was the fastest rider on track in the final laps as he pushed for an Aprilia 1-2-3. The Trackhouse rider passed Acosta for third on lap 23 with a brilliant overtake.
Martin was right on the back of Bezzecchi in the final five laps, making his move on the third-to-last lap with an unbelievable late lunge into turn two. The Spaniard held his own to win his first MotoGP race since 2024, with Bezzecchi and Ogura locking out the podium.
