Neil Hodgson has declared ‘enough is enough’ for Marc Marquez after the reigning world champion suffered a violent highside that ended his Sprint race at the French Grand Prix prematurely.
Despite starting the race from the front row alongside factory Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez soon found himself among many as he bogged down at the very start of the 13-lap Sprint.
How many more crashes can Marc Marquez take after his violent highside in the Le Mans Sprint? 🫣
As he attempted to stay on the back of Honda’s Luca Marini in P6 during the latter stages of the race, the Spaniard suffered a violent highside crash at turn 11.
Marquez limped away from the scene of the accident with the help of the trackside marshals and was taken to the medical centre for further checks.
Following his visit, Marquez was deemed to have sustained a fracture to his right foot and will now miss the remainder of the race weekend in Le Mans, as well as the following Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona.

Neil Hodgson says ‘enough is enough’ after violent Marc Marquez highside at Le Mans
During TNT Sports’ coverage of the Sprint race at Le Mans, Neil Hodgson revealed his concerns for the reigning world champion following yet another high-speed crash this season.
Since the beginning of the campaign, one of the largest narratives within the championship landscape has been down to Marquez’s physical status.
Who was your rider of the French Grand Prix Sprint race?
The Spaniard has clearly been suffering from the same arm injury that he sustained in Indonesia last year, but has frequently asserted that he has recovered enough to continue competing in the premier class.
However, in the eyes of Hodgson, it’s time for Marquez to call it a day. After being asked when enough is enough for Marquez in light of his crash-ridden opening to the season, he replied, “Right now.
“This is enough is enough. I don’t think we’ll be seeing him tomorrow. Enough is enough. Humongous highside in the end. It all starts because he loses the front.
“He loses the front, it grips, it flicks, and you can see the speed. It’s so violent. Thankfully the bike didn’t hit him. It’s horrible.”

Michael Laverty says Marc Marquez is now a ‘shadow of his former self’ in 2026
Fellow MotoGP pundit for TNT Sports, Michael Laverty, also shared his reaction to the vicious crash. He told viewers following the conclusion of the race, “Marc has always astounded us.
“I don’t know why, but at the moment, it just feels reminiscent of the year with Repsol Honda when he decided to call it a day to get things right in terms of his rehab and recovery when his arm just wasn’t working.
“He’s limping, he’s feeling it. He hasn’t given us the full extent of how much he’s struggling. He said it’s him, physically, and that he isn’t able to really force this bike right now.
“Then you see things of that happening, which could be that he’s lacking a bit of strength to fight it when it locks, and, yeah, he’s just not in front of the bike, like he has been in the past.
“Fingers crossed, he can turn it around. We want to see Marc back to how obviously delivered that title last year, but at the moment, he’s a shadow of his former self, really.”
