Dani Pedrosa was asked what he could share about KTM’s bike for 2027, but his response will have some fans worried.

There are a lot of questions surrounding KTM next season, especially as they look to adapt to the new regulation jump to 850cc bikes.

It was revealed that KTM are developing their bike around Pedro Acosta over his teammates, which could cause complications for the team next season, given Acosta’s imminent move to Ducati.

In his place, KTM are set to bring in Alex Marquez. But who his teammate will be is still up in the air. Brad Binder’s poor start to 2026 has not made things easier for them, as there are more questions than answers when it comes to KTM’s future next season.

But when it comes to their bike in 2027, Dani Pedrosa has revealed that KTM’s bike has a glaring weakness that was exposed during early testing.

Dani Pedrosa explains where KTM’s 2027 bike will struggle next season

Speaking in an interview with Pont Grup alongside Pedro Acosta, Dani Pedrosa was asked what he could share about the 2027 KTM bike.

He revealed that as of now, the bike isn’t as fast as it can be while riding on straights. However, he expects the bike to be faster on more winding and curving circuits, like Sachsenring.

“It depends on the track. If the tracks are like Mugello, where there are so many straights, of course, the bike is going to be slower. But I don’t know at other circuits, like Sachsenring, which is all curves, maybe we’ll be faster.”

Of course, it is far too early to know the true strengths and possible weaknesses of KTM’s bike in 2027, especially compared to other teams on the track.

However, Pedrosa, who is the developmental test rider for KTM, openly admitting the bike’s lack of speed on straights is a concerning sight.

Dani Pedrosa reveals what is missing from KTM’s ‘exciting’ 2027 bike

Speaking further in the interview, Pedrosa revealed that his initial tests have shown that KTM have a competitive bike next season, one that will make for exciting viewing for fans.

“The only thing I’m missing now, let’s say, is more testing on other circuits. So far, we’ve only tested on a few circuits.

“So, we have to test other track characteristics, straights, bumps, smooth surfaces, asphalts. We still have all of this year ahead of us to do some more testing.

“I think the bike is fun. I think it can help the championship by having more overtaking, which is more exciting. In terms of entertainment, I think it’s going to be cool for the rider and the fans.”

KTM have time to address their speed issues before the start of next season. If they can do that, then they will have a strong chance at competing at the highest level next season.
