Fabio Quartararo launched another attack on Yamaha after a dismal United States Grand Prix, but his comments have not sat well with fans on social media.
The Frenchman finished 17th at the United States Grand Prix, with Yamaha teammate Alex Rins being the only rider to finish behind him. Interestingly, Quartararo was beaten by Pramac’s Toprak Razgatlioglu and Jack Miller.
Following the race, the 2021 MotoGP champion heavily criticised his team, with Quartararo saying Yamaha have ‘no idea’ how to fix the V4. He has scored just six points thus far in 2026, but fans believe he has to take some responsibility.

Will he score over or under 50 this season?
Yamaha were bound to have a tough season this year as they introduced the V4 engine. They will focus on development, rather than outright performance, but that has not stopped their star rider from putting on the pressure.
Quartararo pushed for the V4 to be brought forward in development in 2025, as he was losing patience with his lack of results on the inline four. Since its introduction, he has been heavily critical of Yamaha and the project.

MotoGP fans tell Fabio Quartararo he’s ‘wrong’ about ‘no idea’ comments towards Yamaha
The 26-year-old has not shied away from bashing the Iwata outfit to the press. Yamaha did not let Quartararo speak in Thailand, or any of their riders for that matter, as they feared a ‘big mess’ over the V4’s lack of pace.
Things have not improved in Brazil and Austin, but fans think that was to be expected from a new project. Seeing Quartararo’s comments over the weekend, many criticised him on Reddit, with some even hinting that he should take some of the blame.
“He’s wrong … they will fix it because that’s what factories as successful as Yamaha do .. and it will take however long it takes!” said one fan.
How much responsibility does Fabio Quartararo need to take for Yamaha’s problems?
Some were not happy with Quartararo digging out Yamaha again, with one saying: “Fabio’s revving his mouth like Maverick revved his engine back in the day…” and another commenting: “Dude! Everyone knew this was going to be the case! The bike is cooked, chose money over another title. No tears here.”
Many criticised Quartararo for his lack of technical understanding and poor feedback, which they believe is a factor in Yamaha’s struggles: “It’s funny because it’s been reported that he has no idea how to provide effective feedback. So maybe dude should chill. Literally everyone knew this was going to be an issue.”
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Quartararo is not a developmental rider. Wherever he goes after Yamaha, he will offer nothing for the new rules for 2027,” echoed another user.
Another said: ‘I pressured Yamaha into going V4, and now I’m leaving the sinking ship because it turns out, we weren’t going to be immediately competitive as I was expecting, due to my lack of technical understanding.”

Is Fabio Quartararo just thinking about his Honda move?
Neil Hodgson has told Quartararo to be ‘professional’ at Yamaha in 2026, given his sizeable salary at the Iwata outfit. But his comments in the media have been anything but, and it is indicative of a rider who has given up on the project.
If the rumours are true, he already has. It is believed that Quartararo has signed with Honda from 2027 onwards, marking the first rider transfer of the 2026 season.
Reports suggest that Quartararo just wants to get to Honda injury-free and get the 2026 season over and done with. He is prepared for a miserable season with Yamaha before switching to their Japanese rivals.
