Nicolo Bulega was afforded his chance in MotoGP with Ducati at the end of 2025, and Toprak Razgatlioglu will make his debut in 2026.

The WSBK title rivals will be regulars in the MotoGP paddock next year, with Bulega acting as Ducati test and reserve rider. While he is primarily focused on testing the 2027 850cc bike, Razgatlioglu will be a full-time rider with Pramac Yamaha.

Where will Toprak Razgatlioglu finish in his first MotoGP season?

Razgatlioglu previously had no interest in joining a satellite team when he was first linked to the premier class in 2022. However, he has changed his tune for 2026 and will link up with Jack Miller at Pramac.

It will be a transitional year for multiple reasons, as the 29-year-old will have to get accustomed to new machinery and tyres. Yamaha will introduce their V4 engine, which they hope will help them return to the front of the grid.

Nicolo Bulega thinks Toprak Razgatlioglu will have ‘no problem’ being at the front in MotoGP if Yamaha are competitive

Given Razgatlioglu’s success in World Superbikes, winning his third title in 2025, many are excited about what he can do in MotoGP. Many are already tipping him for success.

MotoGP manager Alberto Vergani thinks Razgatlioglu will give Yamaha riders a ‘big headache’ in 2026. But the reality is that next season could be a difficult year for the Iwata outfit.

Yamaha were bottom of the standings in 2025 and the V4 is far from the finished product. Razgatlioglu will need time to adapt to the bike and his new surroundings, but Bulega thinks he will have no issue if his bike is competitive.

Speaking via Motosan, he said: “A lot will depend on how the Yamaha performs. We’ve seen Quartararo, who I think is very strong, struggle.

“Toprak has impressive talent, and if Yamaha gives him a competitive bike, he’ll have no problem being at the front in MotoGP as well.”

Toprak Razgatlioglu wants Nicolo Bulega in MotoGP

Razgatlioglu knows he could be fighting for P15 in MotoGP in 2026. He is fully aware that next year is a learning curve and that he will need time to adapt.

Bulega had a similar experience with Ducati at the end of 2025 as he stood in for Marc Marquez in the final two races. The Italian finished 15th in Portugal and Valencia, scoring two points.

Bulega scored all of Ducati’s points on Sunday after Marquez’s injury in Indonesia. It was an impressive spell for the WSBK rider, and he is looking to get more in the future.

With his testing efforts in 2026, he could put himself in the conversation for a full-time seat within the Borgo Panigale outfit. Razgatlioglu has called for Ducati to sign Bulega for the 2027 season, in time for the new regulations.
