Francesco Bagnaia is still struggling to garner some consistency atop his GP25, and former MotoGP mechanic Ramon Forcada has revealed one concern of those close to the Italian rider regarding Ducati personnel.

As the grid approaches the final round of the 2025 campaign in Valencia, the curious case of Francesco Bagnaia has been a continual hot topic for the entirety of the season.

The factory Ducati man has shown glimpses of a potential resolution to his issues, but consistently demonstrating that has been difficult.

Bagnaia has retired from the last four Grands Prix, adding to his woes of being overtaken by Marco Bezzecchi in the MotoGP standings.

One of the biggest issues that Ducati engineers have faced has been figuring out the root cause of the issue on Bagnaia’s GP25.

Ramon Forcada reveals the concerns that Francesco Bagnaia’s team have over Ducati’s engineers

In return for Ducati engineers not understanding the source of Bagnaia’s struggles, Ramon Forcada has revealed that the mechanics within the Borgo Panigale-based team struggle to understand the Italian rider’s way of working as well.

Speaking on an episode of the Dura La Vita podcast, in which the normal cast were joined by MotoGP legend Dani Pedrosa, a discussion regarding Bagnaia’s turbulent 2025 campaign ensued.

Pedrosa was asked for his opinion on the debacle, to which he replied, “A complete mystery for me, because I don’t know, I wouldn’t know if I don’t talk to him, I couldn’t tell you.

“But without a doubt, he is going through a difficult time. This has to be understood, because it’s not easy.”

The former factory Honda rider also added, “When you have all the pressure on you, even if they put things in place for you, help you, and everything, if you are not enjoying the weekend, if you are not enjoying the situation you are in, or riding the bike, the results don’t come out either.”

This led Forcada to reveal the sentiment of those close to Bagnaia, with the former Yamaha crew chief saying, “The problem is that, according to people from his team, when talking to him, they also don’t manage to understand him.

“I mean, you say, if I don’t talk to him, I don’t know what’s going on. It’s just that those who talk to him also don’t get it.”

Ruben Xaus also highlighted a crucial flaw of Francesco Bagnaia’s feedback at Ducati

The discussion was then entered by Ruben Xaus, who gave his two cents on the reason for Bagnaia’s downfall in the current term.

The former MotoGP rider thinks that the 28-year-old’s performances this season have exposed a crucial flaw in the way that he works in a team, saying, “Pecco’s is a person who hasn’t been very talkative either.

“I mean, he is very reserved for himself as well. So, when everything went well for him, he didn’t need to talk much because everything was working.

“But when things go wrong, if he is someone who also doesn’t talk and the falls don’t support you, this holds you back from bringing out more talent, because then you are on the bike with more tension, with less ease and with less reaction capacity, and your mind also gets blocked.

“So, as you say, Pecco is an enigma, and it’s not easy because everything that accompanies Pecco right now is a magic wand. I mean, everything around Pecco, which is the Marc zone. And Alex, well, of course, is in an eclipse.”

Despite the undesirable form that has been on show with Ducati this year, Bagnaia remains a hot commodity in the MotoGP rider market.

Honda and Yamaha are reportedly interested in Bagnaia, and the former could prove to be an attractive option for the Italian rider given their impressive rise through the field during recent race weekends.
