MotoGP is headed to the Mandalika International Circuit for the Indonesian Grand Prix, following Marc Marquez’s title victory in Japan last weekend.
The Spaniard’s incredible comeback came after it was revealed that he had almost retired following his horrific crash at the start of the 2020 season.
Marquez had previously undergone four surgeries to treat his broken humerus from the accident, but has since had his most dominant season since 2019.
His championship victory at the Grand Prix of Japan saw Marquez take his seventh MotoGP title, matching the record of his rival Valentino Rossi.
Marquez has previously struggled in Indonesia, failing to finish a race at the event. If he can win the race this weekend, he will match Rossi’s record for wins at 23 different circuits, only being beaten by Mick Doohan with 24.
Francesco Bagnaia took his second victory of 2025 at the Grand Prix of Japan after also claiming his first sprint win of the year earlier in the weekend.
Bagnaia previously won the Grand Prix of Indonesia in 2023 after starting from 13th on the grid, and also secured a third-place finish at the same race last season.
