Jack Miller has admitted that he is starting to feel “unwanted” by Yamaha, with the Japanese crew yet to announce Pramac’s rider line-up for the 2026 MotoGP season.
The Iwata natives have delayed and delayed a decision about which rider will partner Toprak Razgatlioglu at their satellite crew next year. Yamaha have sought to keep their options open since signing the World Superbikes star, which has left Miller and Miguel Oliveira in the dark.
Yamaha signing Razgatlioglu on a two-year factory contract to join Pramac for 2026 instantly put Miller at risk, as the Australian only boasts a one-year factory deal for the 2025 MotoGP season. But Yamaha put a release clause in Oliveira’s two-year contract, which they can use.
Oliveira now faces an uncertain future as the Portuguese hit the summer break as the worst Yamaha rider in the 2025 standings. He only had and continues to have just six points, while Miller now has 52 and factory team riders Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins boast 103 and 42.

Pramac Yamaha MotoGP target Manuel Gonzalez makes ‘worrying’ mistakes in Moto2
Yamaha originally aimed to decide on Razgatlioglu’s 2026 Pramac teammate by the summer break. But the ongoing delay saw Miller admit ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix that he is starting to feel “unwanted”. The 30-year-old will even consider his alternative options soon.

It is thought that Yamaha’s Japanese management is pushing to keep Miller, but the brand’s race team based in Italy would prefer to sign Moto2 championship leader Manuel Gonzalez. The expectation now is also that Yamaha will finalise Pramac’s 2026 line-up at Balaton Park.
But Neil Hodgson has seen a “worrying” trend from Gonzalez in 2025, with how the 23-year-old has often made errors that jeopardise his Moto2 title bid. In particular, Gonzalez crashed with Barry Baltus at Silverstone and crashed in qualifying at Aragon so started from just P18.
Hodgson said on TNT Sports 2 (22/08, 12:58): “It’s sort of worrying, isn’t it, because we talk about Gonzalez as the man who’s dominated Moto2 this year. Pretty much every weekend, he’s fastest. He tops most of the sessions.
“But because of those glitches, his 19-point lead in the championship – not a lot, is it? So, he’ll so want to have a good round here to make up for the no-score the last time out. And, obviously, that was such bad luck to get a hole in the radiator is so unlucky.”
Pramac Yamaha talking with Manuel Gonzalez could send Jack Miller to World Superbikes

Yamaha have targeted Gonzalez after missing out on Diogo Moreira, who they expect Honda will sign to replace Somkiat Chantra at LCR in the 2026 MotoGP season. The Iwata crew are even now in talks with the Moto2 championship leader about a deal to step up with Pramac.

Gonzalez heads into the Hungarian GP weekend at Balaton Park just 19 points ahead of Aron Canet after the Intact GP rider was forced to retire from the Moto2 Austrian Grand Prix after a stone hit his radiator. Italtrans rival Moreira sits third in the championship, 35 points adrift.
Miller will likely now have to explore his offers from the World Superbikes paddock for 2026, having admitted at Balaton Park that there are zero spots on the 2026 MotoGP grid available to him. Ducati could offer Miller a WSBK switch, with Luigi Dall’Igna monitoring his situation.
