Fabio Quartararo’s frustrations with Yamaha are growing as he continues to push the manufacturer for a winning project.
The Frenchman has shown great loyalty to the Japanese outfit, having spent his entire MotoGP career so far with Yamaha. Winning the 2021 title and finishing runner-up the following year, Quartararo is now hoping to see the team return to the front after regressing in performance.
The 26-year-old has not won a race in the premier class in three years, coming at the 2022 German GP. Ahead of this year’s race at Sachsenring, Quartararo is in a mixed bag of form on the YZR-M1.
Qualifying has been immense for the Yamaha rider, claiming four pole positions in 2025. But Quartararo has been unable to capitalise on Sundays, with mechanical failures and crashes leaving him 11th in the standings.
He hopes that the V4 project will be successful, as he has constantly reiterated his discontent with Yamaha and the M1 throughout 2025. It is coming to the point that the Frenchman is considering his future elsewhere.

MotoGP fans tell Fabio Quartararo to leave Yamaha and replace Jorge Martin at Aprilia in ‘perfect’ swap
Quartararo sent a ‘clear’ message to Yamaha about his future, with it being reported that he will decide after the first three or four races of 2026 whether he will stay with the manufacturer.
Being the only rider besides Marc Marquez to grab a pole position this season, the 2021 champion will certainly be a prime target on the MotoGP rider market. And fans think they have seen the next challenge for Quartararo.
Jorge Martin is pushing to leave Aprilia at the end of 2025 after activating his exit clause. Fans flooded the comments of MotoGP’s YouTube channel after seeing Quartararo’s latest criticism of Yamaha and pointed him to the Noale outfit.
“Just go replace Martin at Aprilia brother,” said one fan. Another demanded: “Aprilia – sign him!”
Should move to Aprilia.. that bike is competitive, just need [a] good rider
One user wrote: “Quartararo and Martin swap would be perfect for both,” as the pair are seemingly unhappy with their current projects. Another fan suggested to Quartararo: “Should move to Aprilia.. that bike is competitive, just need [a] good rider.”
Others believe the Frenchman did himself no favours by sticking with Yamaha. One said: “He has already wasted precious years by staying with Yamaha,” while another wrote: “Let’s not forget that Fabio has the highest salary on the grid. he chose to be in this position while he can move last year.”

Fabio Quartararo has had chances to leave Yamaha in the past – where could he go?
Carlo Pernat predicts Quartararo will be with Yamaha ‘forever’, given his commitment to the brand. The 26-year-old has had chances to leave, but has continued to stick by the Japanese manufacturer.
Quartararo could have joined Gresini in 2025, but would have had to take a sizeable pay cut to step into a satellite team. A move to Ducati would give them one of the strongest rider line-ups in history, and they could have another opportunity.
Quartararo has ‘no more time’ at Yamaha as his patience is waning thin. Of course, it is mere speculation at this point, but in theory, Luigi Dall’Igna could have the chance to sign one of the best riders on the grid if he chooses to seek pastures new.
Linking up with Marc Marquez, Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez would give Ducati an almost unbeatable line-up at the front of the grid. Quartararo will want to do it with Yamaha, but it is clear that he will move on if they continue to disappoint him.
