MotoGP agent is working on getting Jorge Martin out of his Aprilia contract in 2025. But the Spaniard is not the only rider on his books who is unhappy with his current situation.

Pedro Acosta has not been content with KTM in 2025. Since making the step up to the factory team, the 21-year-old has struggled to replicate the incredible success he had in his rookie season last year.

At this stage of the season in 2024 with Tech3, Acosta had been on the podium five times, including Sprints. After nine rounds in 2025, he is ninth in the standings, having grabbed a highest finish of fourth at Le Mans and Aragon.

The Spaniard is the highest-ranked KTM rider in the standings. However, he has been desperately unsatisfied with the state of the RC16, having crashed numerous times in the opening races.

Acosta and Brad Binder have been demanding action from KTM as they struggle to find consistent results on the bike. It has led to speculation that he could leave the manufacturer at the end of the season.

Albert Valera hints he could ‘appeal’ to KTM to get Pedro Acosta out of his contract

Acosta is despondent about KTM in media debriefs, venting his frustration about his current situation. The Spaniard has a contract until 2026, but rumours have suggested that he could look for a way out before then.

KTM ‘restricted’ Acosta’s contract from having an exit clause, fearing a repeat of their feud with Martin back in his Moto2 days. However, it is possible that he can leave before 2026, as Acosta can be bought out of his contract for £4.5m.

Acosta is clearly unhappy at the manufacturer, and his agent Valera has just dropped the biggest hint about his future. Speaking via DAZN, he stated that he could ‘appeal’ to KTM to seek an early exit.

“Pedro is not happy now, but he has one more year and if not, we will have to put up with it or appeal to KTM’s will,” he said.

How Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta could end up as teammates in 2026

Acosta has become more critical of KTM since their financial situation was resolved. He had been previously restricted from talking about their crisis off the track, which has now been resolved through majority shareholders Bajaj.

But despite this, there are still worrying signs at the manufacturer. Bajaj are set to focus on cuts, having even thought about taking KTM out of MotoGP entirely, giving Acosta more of a reason to consider his future.

Valera could be busy behind the scenes in 2025 as he could see both of his riders make moves elsewhere for next season. It is possible that Martin and Acosta could be teammates at Honda, with the pair being linked with the Japanese giants.

While Honda have offered a three-year deal to Martin, the KTM rider may not be interested in the move. VR46 have a cheque in hand to sign Acosta, with Valentino Rossi eyeing up the Spaniard.
