Yamaha have delivered dramatic message to Jack Miller about MotoGP future after signing Toprak Razgatlioglu

Jack Miller will feel he doesn’t deserve to be at the centre of the MotoGP rumour mill once again. But Toprak Razgatlioglu’s move to Pramac has made it inevitable.

Miller is level with factory rider Alex Rins on 31 points, but the consensus is that he’s been the second-best rider in the Yamaha stable this season. Fabio Quartararo is a fair way ahead on 59.

Pramac’s other rider, Miguel Oliveira, is down in 23rd place. Oliveira has missed four races through injury but his rate of production (he has just three points) suggests he wouldn’t necessarily be close to Miller anyway.

Indeed, there’s only one winner in a shoot-out between Miller and Oliveira on results alone. The Australian is 11-0 up when the two riders compete in a meaningful session.

However, Miller only signed a one-year deal when he joined from KTM, while Oliveira penned a multi-year agreement. Yamaha likely moved for Razgatlioglu because it was an exciting opportunity, not because they were dissatisfied with their current line-up, but the result is the same – one will have to go.

Jack Miller has just four races to save his seat at Pramac

According to a report from Motorsport.com, Yamaha are ‘very pleased’ with Miller’s contribution to their development. His technical feedback is valued by their engineers.

However, they aren’t entirely satisfied with his results. Since finishing an excellent P5 at the Americas GP in March, he’s scored just 12 points in 10 events.

Crucially, Oliveira isn’t meeting a performance clause in his contract. Yamaha are entitled to let him go if he’s still their lowest-ranking rider at an agreed point in the season.

Both riders have now been told that they have until the summer break to ‘earn their places’. That gives them just four races to save their seats.

Pramac could ditch both Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira after Toprak Razgatlioglu move

Miller and Oliveira are likely to be out of MotoGP for good if they lose their Pramac ride. Most teams already have two riders under contract for 2026 after last year’s reshuffle.

Honda have offered Miller a three-year deal in World Superbikes and hope to appoint his close friend Cal Crutchlow as their team manager. But one would imagine his priority is to continue in Grand Prix racing.

There’s reportedly a possibility that Pramac axe both of their riders for next year. They could technically do so if Oliveira doesn’t meet his clause and Miller’s deal expires.

Pramac have been linked with Enea Bastianini, who’s growing extremely frustrated at Tech3. The ex-Ducati rider could even terminate his contract by mutual consent.
