Enea Bastianini has been one of few MotoGP riders who has struggled to build any momentum whatsoever in 2025.
The Italian rider has been the worst of the four KTM riders on pace and just cannot seem to harness any one lap pace from his machine.
Bastianini’s saviour has been a Sunday, where he has been able to show impressive pace and fight back through the field.
He would have hoped to be higher than 15th in the MotoGP standings, but he can be forgiven for it being his first campaign with Tech3.
MotoGP fans blamed Bastianini in France for nearly taking out eventual winner Johann Zarco besides Joan Mir and Francesco Bagnaia at turn one.
It’s clear that the Italian rider isn’t comfortable, particularly after Bastianini told KTM they have a ‘big problem’ with tyre pressures.

Enea Bastianini warned by Tech3 after further struggles at the French Grand Prix
Tech3 boss Herve Poncharal has been handed a timely boost with the arrival and performance of Maverick Vinales in 2025.
He has helped to fill the void left by young talent Pedro Acosta over the winter, securing consecutive top five finishes.
Bastianini is not at the same level, and Poncharal revealed a secret meeting held to try and get the Italian rider back on track.
“I can tell you a bit of [a] secret. His crew chief which is Giriboula. [He] and Enea they are like one,” he said. “These two guys are one. Giriboula believes so much in Enea, and Enea believes so much in Giriboula’s potential.
“On the Monday night after the Jerez test, Giriboula told him, ‘Enea, now. We’ve been doing everything we can do with this bike. We’ve been turning all things around.
“Now, you need to use that bike the way it needs to be ridden. You have to understand that we will not make it a Ducati. Now, the ball is in your camp.”

How long does Enea Bastianini have a contract with KTM and Tech3 for?
Bastianini signed for Tech3 last summer after finding out that he would be losing his factory Ducati ride alongside Francesco Bagnaia.
He penned a two-year deal which expires at the end of the 2026 season, just before the start of the new MotoGP regulations.
It offers everyone flexibility, but there’s a small chance that KTM will opt to pull out of the sport amid their financial woes by then.
It would leave Bastianini, as well as his three colleagues off the grid until they find alternative employment. If his performances fail to pick up, he may not have many suitors.
